  • 1. WELCOMING ADDRESS AND COMMITTEES Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and on behalf of ESOLA, the European Society of Laser Applications, we take great pleasure in welcoming you to the International Laser Conference at the Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Hotel. The conference brings together leading international laser dentists and surgeons who will present not only the latest research in laser procedures, but also discuss the clinical applications in day to day dental situations. And for those who are newcomers to laser dentistry, it will show them where to begin and how to incorporate into their own practice. Laser dentistry is the most exciting new frontier in dentistry today. Only 10 years ago procedures with a beam of light, which are routine today, would have been thought impossible. Safe, painless dentistry has long been the dream of dentists and patients alike, and in many clinical cases this is now being achieved by lasers. An exhibition of the latest lasers will be on show, where participants can try the different types, and workshops will further provide advanced education in their uses. The conference is being held in the beautiful city of Abu Dhabi, known as the jewel of the Arabian Sea. Recently voted the safest city in the world, here East meets West where you will enjoy the fabled Abu Dhabi hospitality and friendliness and partake in its heritage and culture. We would like to thank His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak for his gracious patronage and support and we bid you welcome to the conference. Ahlan Wa Salam! Yours sincerely, Prof.DDr. Andreas.
