The Greek cuisine is famous worldwide for its taste, its variety, and wholesomeness, since the Mediterranean cuisine is generally considered the mosthygiene of all. The basis of Greek cuisine is olive oil, bread, cereals, dairy products, vegetables, legumes, honey, fish and meats such as goat, lamb and pork. In Greek food you will taste many spices andherbs, but used sparingly so as not to cover the taste of vegetables or meat, such as oregano, mint, garlic, dill, parsley, bayleaf, basil, thyme, cinnamon, clove, rosemar y, nutmeg and saffron. You will also find a variety of wines, due to high production of grapes in Greece.
