    • 6. Basic Report Format• Report Format – Top Line – Actual Balance for Each Period of Current Fiscal Year – Followed by One to Five Lines of Prior Year Comparisons – Last Line – Specified Fiscal Year Budget• Two Variance Columns – Actual YTD balance for the current fiscal year (top line) is subtracted from each of the other comparable figures below it to arrive at an (over)/under YTD variance. • A negative number indicates that the current fiscal year balance is higher than the budget or prior year. • A positive number indicates that balance is under the budget or prior year amount. – The (over) or under variance percentage is calculated by taking the dollar variance column and dividing it by the YTD balances for each line.Copyright © 2010 Deltek, Inc. 6

Trend Balance Sheet Special Notes• If you selected "OBS Number" in the Print by field, the F/S Code Budgets by Period File from the F/S Code Budgets by Period screen is the source and may not be an appropriate comparison when printing the Balance Sheet by OBS.• Hints: Since this is a Balance Sheet report, the figures in each column represent the ending balances of each period and are not the net changes from the previous period.• Any G/L accounts without F/S Codes (regardless of account type) will print at the top of the Balance Sheet prior to Current Assets. The account name(s) are not printed but can be easily identified by printing the F/S Code Summary Report from the F/S Code Summary Report screen for F/S Code 00-00. The financial statements will not be meaningful until all G/L accounts have been assigned F/S Codes.Copyright © 2010 Deltek, Inc. 9
