  10. 10. C/S Glue Viewer FiltersFilter buttons narrow down the activities that are displayed inthe scheduleFilters only displays activities  Whose WBS number matches that of the active wInsight WBS element  That meet the threshold conditions  That are not complete10 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. 12. 12. Schedule ProcessingExport schedule data using provided utility  Open Plan  MS Project  Primavera  Identify field containing WBS numbers that match WBS numbers in wInsightImport schedule data using C/S Glue Viewer  Identify matching wInsight contract and reporting period  Multiple schedules can be combined!Run processing functions  Update Prior Finish Dates to capture previous completion dates  Set Filter Flags to determine the Red, Yellow, and Green filters12 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. 14. 14. DCMA Tripwire Metrics
  15. 15. DCMA Schedule Tripwire Data and MetricsTripwire Data  CumActualCompl, CurPlannedStarts, Critical Path Length, Number of days of float, etc.  They are the values used in Tripwire Metrics  They are stored in the database  Most in the BEI table  Top level data is also stored in the CPR Header spreadsheet in wInsight Administrator  Can be displayed in wInsight Sort windowTripwire Metrics  Baseline Execution Index (BEI), Monthly % Hit, and Critical Path Length Index (CPLI)  They are calculations/formulas  They are not stored in the database  They are calculated at the time a chart or a report is displayed  BEIs can be displayed in wInsight Sort windowAvailability  BEI, Monthly % Hit, and related data at all levels  CPLI and related data only at level 1/total contract15 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  16. 16. DCMA Schedule Tripwire Data CriteriaIn determining Tripwire Data totals, wInsight ignores thefollowing schedule items:  All zero (0) duration tasks, even those that are not marked as milestones  Milestones  Summary tasks  LOE tasks (level-of-effort tasks)  Tasks without a baseline  Tasks that are not mapped to WBS (i.e., no WBS# in LinkVal field in C/S Glue Viewer)16 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  17. 17. Baseline Execution Index (BEI) Defined # of Baseline Tasks Actually Finished BEI = # of Baseline Tasks Scheduled to be FinishedIn calculating BEI data  It does not matter if tasks finish on or ahead of their baseline schedule  If a task has finished (early, on time, or late), wInsight counts itBEI can be > 1.017 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  18. 18. Monthly % Hit Defined Monthly # of THIS month’s tasks finished on or ahead of their baseline schedule = % Hit # of THIS month’s tasks to be finished in the baseline scheduleMore stringent criteria than for the BEIMonthly % Hit cannot be > 1.018 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  19. 19. Critical Path Length Index (CPLI) Defined Critical Path Duration + Float CPLI = Critical Path DurationSchedule Float – the difference between the amount of timeavailable for performing a program or a milestone and the timerequired to complete the program or milestonewInsight always assumes a 5-day work week in calculatingCPLICPLI of less than 1.00 indicates that the program is not likelyto achieve its baseline completion date without correctiveaction19 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  20. 20. Program Tripwires Summary ReportIndicates whether the program is going well or poorly againstbaseline estimates20 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  21. 21. Program Tripwires Summary Report ThresholdsSetting Tripwire Thresholds  wInsight Administrator 6.5 provides the capability to customize the secondary tripwire thresholds  wInsight Administrator > Data Input > Contracts Setup > Contracts21 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  22. 22. BEI and Monthly % Hit ChartCompletions and Starts version of this chart  Lines = CUM Data, BEI criteria  Bars = CUR Data, Monthly % Hit criteria22 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  23. 23. CPLI Milestone ReportIf the ProgramOrMilestone column is NULL, or says "TotalProgram" or "Milestone,“ report does not display a recordOtherwise  The milestone name, critical path length, and schedule float for the report come from the corresponding columns in the CPR Header  The UID, Start, and End dates come from imported schedule data for the milestone23 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  24. 24. Automation of Tripwire DataDeriving Tripwire data is a 3 step process  Export schedule data using provided utility and identify LOE tasks  Import schedule data using C/S Glue Viewer  Recalculate the contract in wInsight Administrator using the Derive Tripwire Metrics option24 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  25. 25. Recalculate & Derive Tripwire DataUse wInsight Administrator to recalculate the contract andDerive Tripwire Metrics (data)25 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  26. 26. OMB FY11 Table IIA Report
  27. 27. OMB FY 11 Exhibit 300 Table IIA ReportData was previously posted yearly, now required monthly3 Key Features  Report based on imported EVM & schedule data and a WBSOMB milestone mapping completed by the end-user  Ability to export data as a .CSV file or an .XML file from wInsight only  OMB Milestone Changes Report27 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. All Rights Reserved
  28. 28. OMB FY 11 Report – Structure MappingIn wInsight Administrator  Create OMB structure and OMB elements  Use the WBS Mapper to map WBS elements to OMB elements  Load and recalculate WBS earned value data as usual  OMB Report data generated at time report is run28 ©2012 Deltek, Inc. 32. 32. The Future
  33. 33. wInsight EnhancementsNew Integrated Program Management (IPMR) requirements  CPR Format 1  Minor changes in report header  Data in XML in whole units (no decimals). Applies to Formats 1-4 and 7.  CPR Format 2  Subcontractor and Material reported separately from OBS  CPR Format 3  Time-phasing of changes between BOP and EOP  CPR Format 6  Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)  CPR Format 7  Time-phased historical & forecasted costsAvailable Q4 201233 ©2012 Deltek, Inc.
