Our goal is comprehensive business performance management suite that is specifically designed for the needs government contractors. A set of products that is already integrated with Costpoint product family and delivers out of the box functionality. For plan, we have both Enterprise Planner and Budgeting & Planning. For reporting, Deltek Performance Management (Cognos 8), notice the name is changing, more details to come. Continues to be our enterprise wide, reporting solution for ad hoc query and self service reporting. We continue to expand the capabilities of this product as you hear more about with our launch coming in the next couple weeks. For analysis, we are very excited that Costpoint Analytics will be coming in the 2nd quarter. Costpoint Analytics provides role based, analytical dashboards and easily syntheses data across multiple sources.
[Gerard Ruiz] Time to deliver = 2 minutes Behind these acquisitions is a strategy. Back in 2006, Deltek saw a sea of point solutions. So we decided that it was time to acquire best-of-breed applications and take it to the next level. In 2008, we are now able to deliver a solid value of single vendor. This helps ensure that integration is done right and timely. Where we are headed is to make the transition from Enterprise Project Management to Integrated Program Management. This helps us deliver the next level of value where all the capabilities are on a single technology. This delivers an amazing amount of functionality and value for the enterprise.
I will let you read this definition. Here’s an amazing statistic: 40%of business decisions continue to be based on gut instinct. Extensive evidence that having experts is good; but experts using analytics is much better. What is an analytical application? The core value of Premier Analytics lies in its ability to pull information from GCS Premier. It allows executives to compare and contrast the data against specific indicators that organizations use to evaluate their performance. The alternative to a financial analytic application is typically the spreadsheet. But reliance on spreadsheets is problematic. In a paper written by business professors from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, researchers examined 25 spreadsheets provided by two consulting companies, a financial services firm, a manufacturing company and an educational institute. They found 117 errors, 60% of which had a quantitative impact – the largest of them, a staggering $100 million.
At Deltek, we believe there are three steps needed to align company performance with business strategy. First, there’s needs to be a plan in place to understand “What we think will happen”. Customer need a modular solution create & track org and project budgets. Next, companies need to monitor their business to understand “Where are we today”.
This slide is a wrap-up of the session. The speaker would provide a review of the main session objectives.
