  • Now let’s look a the boot process of WTOS cloud client using a typical network configuration. <br /> <br /> Step 1: Wyse thin client Boot-up - As the device is powered on it contacts a DHCP server. <br /> <br /> Step 2: Wyse thin client self-configures and updates - The DHCP Sever Responds with IP Address, Subnet Mask, DNS info etc. and the custom DHCP Option Tag information containing the Wyse File Server IP Address or DNS Name <br /> <br /> Step 3: User enters credentials - The WTOS cloud client checks Wyse File server for wnos.ini, firmware, certificates, background, etc. By simply placing the latest firmware in the same folder as the wnos.ini file the firmware of the device can be updated at boot time. This does require the device to reboot one time after the firmware update, but the entire process on typical network is only about 20 seconds. <br /> <br /> Step 4: Wyse thin client authenticates with VMware Horizon Broker and connects user with VM or applications - The Wyse File server responds and WTOS cloud client is configured with proper settings <br /> <br /> Step 5: The WTOS cloud client starts communication with Citrix, Microsoft, or VMware Desktop, Applications, or connection broker <br /> <br /> Next we will go briefly through the steps necessary to “properly” configure the network so the WTOS can be configured based on the process just described just described. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
