TEXT ONLY This digital media series is being created to encourage Canadians to get more involved in politics by offering an interesting film contest, a top quality news portal, original web content and a well organized forum for discussions. IETM.com will have several major components. The news portal will incorporate some of the best features found on the webs top news sites, with a specific focus on Canadian interests. The site will encourage user feedback by incorporating ratings and comments wherever possible. Through preserving comments, superior organization, and creative design our goal will be to move the news related discussions from the article pages onto our news link pages. The flagship application will be the short film contest that will build towards the next Federal election, with a finale award show on election night (and then the process starts over). The nomination process will engage and entertain the user, as they select or change their nominees. The award show will be held as an entertaining alternative to the actual election coverage. The finale will reflect upon the outcome of the election, and will be an Oscar style show where the winners for each category are awarded, and top clips are webcast to the public.

DEBATE NIGHT AT THE STARLITE DRIVE-IN

During the Federal Leaders’ Debate, we will host a soiree at Hamilton’s Starlite drive-in. Families will be encouraged to come and view the debate as a community, with movie snacks and refreshments provided.

After the debate, we will interview the crowd to gauge their reaction. The results will be posted to IETM.com, and we will network to develop similar events and gatherings in locations across Canada. We want Canadians tuned in.

7 In order to promote interest in the site and the contest, we will initiate a series of street campaigns to engage the public, and enlarge our audience. One idea is to setup a soapbox with a bullhorn on a public corner, and charge people a $2 charitable donation for two minutes of time to address the public (on camera).
