  • 2. Finance Team
    • The church treasurer is the finance team leader.
    • Purpose: The finance team oversees and analyzes the church’s finances.
    • Responsibilities of the Treasurer:
    • Maintain adequate records of all church funds received
    • and disbursed
    • Pay church bills promptly
    • Oversee the creation and maintenance of a church budget
    • Create monthly and annual financial reports
    • Ensure funds are disbursed according to church policy
    • and procedure
    • Observe and adhere to IRS rules
    • Serve on the Church Council
  • 3. Finance Team
    • Responsibilities of all Finance Team Members
    • Aid in the creation of a church budget
    • Work with the treasurer in whatever tasks they deem necessary
    • Oversee the formation of a scholarship committee to distribute scholarship funds to a deserving high school graduate
    • Finance Team Member Positions
    • Assistant Treasurer (1) – The assistant treasurer will aid the treasurer in overseeing and tending to the finances of the church. The assistant treasurer would be responsible for any specific tasks delegated to them by the treasurer.
    • Counters (4) – Counters count and record the total funds collected each week in tithes and offerings, following each collection of funds.
    • Financial Secretary (1) – The financial secretary prepares giving
    • statements, records individual contributions to the church
    • to provide quarterly and annual reports, prepares and
    • make deposits, and prepares and distributes annual
    • stewardship reports.
  • 4. Men’s Ministry Team
    • The men’s ministry team leader will serve on the Church Council.
    • Purpose: The men’s ministry team provides Spiritual care for the men of the church by working to encourage, lead, and nurture men who serve as brothers, husbands, fathers, and ministry leaders.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Organizing, planning, and directing programs and events that will meet the unique spiritual and emotional needs of the men of the church
    • Equip the men of the church to serve the church, their families, and
    • each other
    • Encourage and promote Spiritual growth among the men of the church
    • Promote news and events that would be of value to the men
    • of the church
    • Promote a lifestyle that lines up with the Biblical model
    • of a Godly man
  • 5. Women’s Ministry Team
    • The women’s ministry team lead e r will serve on the Church Council.
    • Purpose: The women’s ministry team provides Spiritual care for the women of the church by working to encourage, lead, and nurture women who serve as sisters, wives, mothers, and ministry leaders. The team is mainly focused on making disciples of the women of the church and their family, friends and neighbors.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Organizing, planning, and directing programs and events that will meet the unique spiritual and emotional needs of the women of the church
    • Equip the women of the church to serve the church, their families,
    • and each other
    • Encourage and promote Spiritual growth among the women
    • of the church
    • Promote news and events that would be of value to the
    • women of the church
    • Promote a lifestyle that lines up with the Biblical model
    • of a Godly woman
  • 6. Worship Team
    • The worship director is the worship ministry team leader.
    • Purpose: The purpose of the worship team is to lead the congregation in worship and praise, by example, as they use the artistic gifts that God has given them.
    • Responsibilities of the Worship Director:
    • Lead the congregation in music of worship that glorifies God through a blended format of hymns and contemporary praise songs
    • Select music for weekly worship
    • Rehearse and practice each week with worship team members
    • Work with the Pastor to plan worship service flow and order
    • Schedule special music and guest musicians
    • Direct choir specials when appropriate
    • Recruit instrumentalists and singers to play and sing in the
    • worship team
    • Utilize drama, video, motion/dance, and any other fitting
    • display of worship when appropriate
    • Serve on the Church Council
  • 7. Worship Team
    • Responsibilities of all Worship Team Members:
    • Work under the leadership of the worship director to create an environment that is conducive to worship
    • Lead the congregation in worship and praise by example
    • from the stage
    • Attend all required rehearsals and practices
    • Practice music as needed on your own
  • 8. Missions Team
    • The missions team leader will serve on the Church Council
    • Purpose: The missions team provides support to those who cross cultural and geographical boundaries in the cause of world evangelization.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Strengthen the presence of missions within the church
    • Organize prayer, financial, and moral support to missionaries serving in North America and around the world
    • Aid the Pastor in planning missions trips for church members
    • Promote current missions opportunities and events in which the church could be involved
    • Promote annual Southern Baptist missions offerings (Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, etc.)
    • Make the church aware of current missions updates and work
    • Partner with specific missionaries in ministry
    • Start local missions under the leadership of the pastor and
    • with the recommendation of the church
    • Ministries part of the Missions Team:
    • Woman’s Missionary Union (WOM)
  • 9.
    • The children’s ministry team leader(s) will serve on the Church Council.
    • Purpose: The children’s ministry team’s purpose is to train and teach children about God and His Word, so that they may grow up to know, love, and serve Christ.
    • Responsibilites:
    • Teach stories from the Bible and make it applicable to children’s lives
    • Live a life that is a positive Godly example to children
    • Plan and implement activities that are engaging and useful in reinforcing Biblical stories and principals to children
    • Provide a learning environment that is bright, cheerful, and positive
    • Be available to counsel and listen to children’s needs

    • Children’s Ministry Team Positions:
    • Awana
    • Teachers – Teachers are needed to teach stories and principals found in the Bible to children in age specific classes
    • Recreation – Recreation leaders lead in games and physical activity
    • Helpers – Helpers are needed in all age categories
    • Release Time (After-School Bible Classes)
    • Teachers - Teachers are needed to teach stories and principals found in the Bible to children in age specific classes
    • Vacation Bible School (VBS) - All positions are filled by the VBS Director
    • Teachers – Teachers are needed to teach in age specific
    • Bible classes, crafts, and recreation
    • Helpers – Helpers are needed in every classroom, in general
    • clerical positions, and in general as-needed tasks
    Children’s Ministry Team
  • 11. Child Care Ministry Team
    • Purpose: The child care ministry team’s purpose is to supervise, teach, and take care of preschool, toddler, and infant children during worship services, meetings, and any other church functions.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Follow and support the preschool/nursery policies
    • of the church
    • Recruit and train volunteers to work in child care
    • and the nursery
    • Teach age-appropriate Bible stories and principals during church services
    • Prevent any possible accidents or risks to children
    • Implement and maintain a security system to
    • promote child safety
  • 12. Youth Ministry Team
    • The youth ministry team leader will serve on the Church Council.
    • Purpose: The youth ministry team’s purpose is to evangelize, teach, and disciple youth in grades 7-12.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Teach students from God’s Word and apply it to their lives
    • Plan recreational events, retreats, youth camps, and other trips
    • Involve parents in the youth ministry
    • Prepare for and lead Wednesday night youth groups
    • Prepare for and lead Sunday morning Bible study
    • Aid in finding ministry positions for students to get
    • involved in
    • Provide a safe environment where youth are
    • accepted and loved
  • 13. Media Ministry Team
    • Purpose: The media ministry team’s purpose is to use various forms of technology to aid in worship and the furthering of the Gospel.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Make copies of sermons available on CD and on the website
    • Operate the soundboard and its related items, mixing for live sound
    • Digitally record all services
    • Operate the computer, projector, and its related items for live projection
    • Operate the camera, DVD recorder, and their related items for live video
    • Oversee the maintenance and care of all computers in the building
    • Oversee the maintenance and care of all A/V equipment in the building
    • Operate lighting for any church productions
    • Update and maintain the church website
    • Media Ministry Team Positions:
    • Soundboard Operator
    • Computer/Video Projection Operator
    • Video Camera Operator
  • 14. Hospitality Team
    • Purpose: The purpose of the Hospitality Team is to promote and create opportunities for Christian fellowship.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate church-wide social functions and meals
    • Provide food and drinks, as needed, for church
    • sponsored events
    • Setup a schedule to provide meals to ill or recovering
    • church members
    • Maintain kitchen cleanliness
    • Keep kitchen stocked with needed supplies and materials
    • Setup and arrange tables and chairs as needed in the fellowship hall
  • 15. Property Care Team
    • Purpose: The property care team maintains, decorates, and keeps our buildings and grounds in a condition appropriate for worship and for public use.
    • Landscaping Responsibilities:
    • Mow, trim, and rake lawns
    • Care of parking areas, including paving and striping
    • Care of sidewalks
    • Snow removal of sidewalks and parking areas
    • External floral care, if applicable
    • Building Maintenance Responsibilities:
    • Repair broken or malfunctioning parts of the church buildings
    • Oversee building construction projects
    • Maintain physical appearance of buildings
    • both inside and outside
  • 16. Property Care Team
    • Building Enhancement Responsibilities:
    • Weekly clean the church building (vacuuming, taking out trash, etc.)
    • Clean the Hope Community Center and the Mission House
    • as needed
    • Determine the furnishings and decorations inside the church
    • Uphold a standard of quality and attractiveness
    • Keep classrooms, hallways, and all rooms free of unneeded clutter
    • Interior decorating (Painting, Wallpapering, etc.)
    • Hope Community Center Responsibilities:
    • Schedule and oversee usage of the Hope Community Center
    • Ensure that rules and building usage policies are being enforced
    • Keep the Community Center stocked with needed materials
    • and supplies
    • Advertise the availability of the facility as needed
  • 17. Visitation Team
    • Purpose: The visitation team’s purpose is to utilize those people gifted with social skills in assisting the Pastor with going outside of the church building to visit and impact families with the Gospel.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Visit the sick or homebound
    • Visit families that have recently started attending the church
    • Visit families of un-churched children involved in our
    • children’s ministries
    • Following up on decisions made
    • Following up on people who have been impacted by
    • outreach ministries
    • Any visits as deemed fit by the pastor
  • 18. Outreach Team
    • Purpose: The outreach team seeks to provide opportunities for church members to get involved in reaching out to our community and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
    • Responsibilities:
    • Create events and opportunities to be able to share the Gospel with the community around us
    • Have a church presence at existing community events (Heritage Day, etc.)
    • Find and promote opportunities to serve
    • people within our community
  • 19. Impact Team
    • Purpose: The impact team is the frontline of the church, and typically people’s first impression of our church. This is the team that the public will see when they arrive for a worship service. The impact team also makes sure that everything is ready for the behind-the-scenes needs of each worship service.
    • Impact Team Positions:
    • Parking and Traffic Control
    • Greeters
    • Ushers
    • Baptismal Preparation
    • Lord’s Supper Preparation
    • Overflow Room Setup
  • 20. Impact Team
    • Responsibilities:
    • Greet guests/Open doors/Pass out bulletins
    • Find seats for guests as needed and have members push towards center of pews as needed to make room
    • Direct members to the overflow room as needed
    • Setup the overflow room weekly by setting up chairs, plugging in the audio feed, and turning the TV and sound system on. Adjust audio volume
    • as needed.
    • Collect offerings
    • Get head count for attendance and record totals
    • Direct parking and traffic on Sunday mornings
    • Prepare the Lord’s Supper as needed
    • Prepare the baptismal as needed
    • Tend to climate needs of the building (heat, fans, lights, etc)
    • Be a positive reflection of our church to our guests
