Lesser the value more the distortion </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Curves – Automatically adjusting the contrast and brightness </li></ul></ul>

Patterns <ul><li>To define a pattern </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Open a 5 X 5 document </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Zoom to maximum size </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select a pencil tool with an appropriate brush size </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Draw lines (horizontal or vertical or both) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Go to Edit Menu and select Define Pattern </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Give a name for the pattern and click OK </li></ul></ul><ul><li>To fill a pattern </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Go to Edit Menu </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select Fill </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Choose Pattern from the dropdown list and select the pattern from the list </li></ul></ul>
    13. 19. Noise and distortions <ul><li>Adding noise or distortions to the image modifies the appearance of the image </li></ul><ul><li>Go to Filter Menu and click Noise and then select Add Noise. Give the noise level. Higher the level more is the disturbances caused </li></ul><ul><li>We can also select Distortions under the same Filter Menu and can choose the type like Ocean waves, ripple etc. </li></ul>

Color Range <ul><li>Photoshop allows us to select a range of color in an image </li></ul><ul><li>Open an image </li></ul><ul><li>Click on Select -> Color Range </li></ul><ul><li>Specify which color we need to select and give OK </li></ul><ul><li>Those portions in the image that satisfies the condition given will be selected and we can manipulate on the selection </li></ul>
    15. 23. Layers, Channels and Paths <ul><li>Layers – Part of the image on which we can work independently without affecting the background. Any number of layers can be created and positioned above the background. </li></ul><ul><li>Paths – Similar to Layers. </li></ul><ul><li>Difference is that Changes made on the Path are visible if we click on the path. But changes made on the layer is visible if we move the layer. </li></ul><ul><li>Channels – Portions of image with similar color or shade are kept as a channel. We can also add new channel </li></ul>

Channels <ul><li>Four basic channels </li></ul><ul><ul><li>RGB (True picture) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Red – Picture with Red component alone </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Green – Picture with Green component alone </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Blue – Picture with Blue component alone </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Alpha channels </li></ul><ul><ul><li>We can select portions of image and create new channel from it </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Select portion and right click and click Save Selection as and give a name and Click Save </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Now in the channels palatte a new channel with the name Alpha 1 is seen </li></ul>

Animated GIF <ul><li>Open an image </li></ul><ul><li>Duplicate the image as many number of times needed (In the layer tab, right click on the background (image) and select Duplicate layer) </li></ul><ul><li>Add different noise levels for each layer (Filter -> Noise -> Add Noise and give different value for the noise level) </li></ul>

Animated GIF <ul><li>Switch to Image Ready (File -> Jump to Image Ready) </li></ul><ul><li>In the animation window, set the loop count and the delay for the frame </li></ul><ul><li>Duplicate the frame </li></ul><ul><li>In each frame make a particular layer visible (In Layers tab, on which ever layer we have Eye like icon, that layer is visible. Click on the eye icon to hide a layer. Again click on the place to show the hidden layer) </li></ul><ul><li>Click on Save optimized as from the File Menu, give a name and click OK. </li></ul>

Panorama <ul><li>Panorama is a wider picture </li></ul><ul><li>We need to have images taken in and around the same area </li></ul><ul><li>Those images are copied in different layers of the same document </li></ul><ul><li>Move the layers appropriately to create a continuous but wide image </li></ul>

Publishing <ul><li>The images are collected together and placed in a folder </li></ul><ul><li>Click on File -> Automate -> Web Photo Gallery </li></ul><ul><li>Choose the template for the gallery. </li></ul><ul><li>Fill all information needed </li></ul><ul><li>Click OK </li></ul><ul><li>An HTML page will be created </li></ul><ul><li>We can access those photos from HTML file </li></ul>
