    2. intro blue is... ...one of the additive primary colours ...generally categorised as a boy colour ...a national colour of many countries in combination with other colours ... used in association with history, medicine, politics, psychology, culture, religion , but in each of them has different meaning ...associated with water and sky , freedom and freshness , divinity, equilibrium and truth, honesty, faith, trustworthiness

      • Associated with the US Democratic party . States they win referred to as “blue states”
      • Associated with the Conservatives in UK
      • In politics light blue is usually attributed to liberalism
      • Blue represented the union north during the American civil war
      • In the US congress, the blue dog coalition is a caucus of conservative democrats.

      • Members of the working class were called “blue collar workers” as opposed to “white collar ones” because they used to wear blue uniforms and their jobs didn’t require a lot of education
      • In Britain’s history, blue plaques are signs in public places to commemorate a link between the location and a famous person or event.
      • The “ blue flag ” is recognised in history as a conservative sign (except for the US)
      • “ Case blue” or Fall Blau was the codename for a 1942 German offensive into soviet Russia, leading to the bloodiest battle during World War II, the Battle of Stalingrad
      • Represents the United Nations in their fight for peace

      • Offices are decorated blue because research has shown that people are more productive in blue rooms.
      • Blue calls to mind feelings of calmness or serenity
      • Blue lowers the pulse rate and body temperature... but it can be linked to cold and depressing.
      • It is believed to be least appetizing . Some weight loss plans even recommend eating your food off of a blue plate.
      • It causes the body to produce calming chemicals
