PRESS POT Grind coffee using a coarse grind. Add coffee to clean and dry pot. Use 1 tbsp of coffee per 4 oz. water. Bring filtered water to a boil and let cool for 45 seconds. Aggressively pour hot water over grounds, saturating them evenly. Set timer for 4 minutes. After 1 minute, stir the grounds for optimal extraction, and top with hot water after bloom settles, if necessary. At 4 minutes, put top on pot and slowly plunge. Serve immediately.
POUR OVER Grind beans using a medium-fine grind. Rinse filter with hot water (200C) to purge the paper taste and preheat the cone. Bring filtered water to a boil and let cool for 45 seconds. Use 12 oz. of water for 8 oz. of brewed coffee. Add coffee to filter. Use 2 tbsp for 8 oz. of brewed coffee. Using little water, saturate grounds and let bloom for 15 seconds. Slowly pour the remaining water over the grounds in a circular motion, saturating the grounds evenly. Remove filter and serve.
CHEMEX Bring filtered water to a boil. Measure out and grind beans using a coarse grind and 2 tbsp of coffee per 6 oz. water. Place filter in brewer. Pull three folds of the filter to one side and one fold to the other. Three-folded side should face pouring spout. Rinse the filter with hot water (200c) to purge the paper taste and preheat glass. Pour out water. Bring water to boil then let cool for 20 seconds. With little water, saturate grounds and let bloom for 30 seconds. Slowly pour remaining water over the coffee in a circular motion, saturating the grounds evenly. Remove filter and serve.
SIPHON Pour 21 oz. of preheated water into bottom globe. Rinse the filter in the top globe with hot water and loosely place top globe through stem. Activate the heat source. While water heats up, measure and grind coffee to medium-fine. Use 1 tbsp of coffee per 5 oz. of water. Just before the water boils, tighten upper globe into lower globe. Once 3/4 of the water is in the top globe, add ground coffee. Immediately stir coffee in a circular motion. Set timer. After 30 seconds, reduce heat to medium-low. After 90-120 seconds, stir the coffee in a circular motion at least 6 times. Remove heat source and coffee will begin to siphon into bottom globe. After coffee has filled lower globe, remove upper globe and serve.
CAFÉ SOLO Grind beans using a coarse grind. Bring 1.3L of filtered water to a boil, then let cool for 45 seconds. Preheat the brewer with 0.2L of hot water. Pour out water. Add coffee to brewer. Use 1 tbsp of coffee per 4 oz. of water. Add thermal jacket to brewer, then add hot water making sure not to overfill. Set time for 4 minutes. After 1 minute, stir the coffee. Put filter funnel on top of brewer. After 4 minutes, pour into cup.
