    Protected View
    Enhances security by opening email attachments (sent from outside your own organization) and documents downloaded from the Internet in a protected view mode.
    Customizable Ribbons
    The ribbons were introduced with Office 2007. In Office 2010 you can modify them, or create your own tabs and groups.
    Paste Preview
    Paste with Live Preview enables you to preview various
    Paste Options, such as Keep Source Column Widths, No Borders, or Keep Source Formatting, so you can visually determine how your pasted content will look prior to pasting.

    Recover unsaved versions
    Expanding on the AutoRecover capabilities that you may know from earlier, Office 2010 now recovers files that you close without saving.7 Easily access and manage recovered presentations right from the Info tab in Backstage view.
    Improved Language Tools
    If you work across multiple languages, you now have more flexibility to work as you choose. Simplify and customize your multilingual experience with separate language settings for editing, Help, display, and ScreenTips.
    Improved Translation Tools
    Get easy access to translation tools from the Review Tab.
    Or, use the improved Mini Translator (formerly called Translation ScreenTips) for on-the-spot translations.

    Improved Text Effects
    Available text effects include gradient fills, custom shadows, reflection, glow, soft edges, bevels and more, as well as a range of preset gallery options that enable you to quickly apply a coordinated set of effects.
    Integrated Print Experience
    The Print tab, located in the Backstage view, provides a new print experience with a full page Print Preview right alongside your print options.
    64 Bit Support
    Take advantage of the 64-bit version of Office 2010. Excel 2010 offers 64-bit scalability for the Excel guru or analyst working with massive, memory-intensive datasets, and provides support for gigabyte-sized spreadsheets.
    Note: Microsoft recommends to use the 32bit version for non Excel power users.

    Mini graphical representations, depicting trends in data ranges.
    Within Pivot tables make a “sliced” selection by selecting certain values within the Pivot Tables categories.
    Conditional formatting

    Show trendlines and trend direction comprehensively.
    Use Sparklines to show trends in a series of values.

    Interactive Pivot charts
    You can now filter directly on your PivotChart using new interactive buttons.
    Filter on the fly. Your Slicer will dynamically change and update as data in underlying
    PivotTable or PivotChart changes.
    PowerPivot (free add-in):
    Leverages slicers, pivotcharts and pivot tables and adds powerful relational capabilities to analyze large amounts of data.
    Also add refresh cycles for analyses shared on SharePoint.

    Create powerful, interactive management dasboards on SharePoint Server using PowerPivot for SharePoint.
    Show Value as in Pivot tables

    Formula Autocomplete (2007)
    A feature already present in Office 2007 that helps users build formulas faster.

    Better Graphics Manipulation
    Remove backgrounds, adjust color, contrast, lighting. Add artistic effects directly from within PowerPoint.
    Also crop images with the new cropping tool.
    Basic video editing
    Trim your embedded video with a simple click and drag, so that your audience sees exactly what you want.
    Bookmark key points in your video for quick access or trigger animations.
    Create custom shapes
    Create your own shapes by combining basic PowerPoint shapes. The created shapes can be formatted as any standard shape much more easier than grouped shapes.

    Choose from an array of new and improved transition effects using the new Transitions tab with a more intuitive transitions gallery and options for many effects.

    Create and display equations
    Easily create and display math equations on your slides using a rich set of intuitive tools.

    Quickly and precisely lay out shapes, images and media objects using new smart guides. As you drag applicable content types on a slide, guides appear automatically to show when alignment is precise.

    Now, each presentation that you open is in an entirely independent window, allowing you to more easily compare presentations.
    Broadcast Slide shows
    Broadcast Slide Show creates a URL that you can share with others by e-mail or instant message.
    Everyone you invite can view the show in high-fidelity and in real-time from their Web browser.

    Reduce file size and improve the playback experience using the new Compress Media and Optimize Media Compatibility tools for the embedded graphic, video and audio files in your presentation.

    Condenses multiple e-mails in a discussion, a conversation thread, and displays them as

    Ignore Thread
    Built on top of the conversation view.
    Take yourself out of irrelevant conversations. Use Ignore and send the entire conversation,
    and future messages, to your Deleted Items folder.
    Social Connectors
    The Outlook Social Connector connects you to the social and business networks you use, including Microsoft SharePoint 2010. Even connect to other popular third-party sites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and MySpace.

    Switching between Microsoft Exchange accounts is now simplified. Connect multiple
    Exchange mailboxes in a single Outlook profile so you can easily access your accounts in one location. Sent items are stored per individual mailbox.
    Calendar Preview
    Instantly review any calendar conflicts or adjacent items in a calendar snapshot, shown in the
    meeting request, so you can read the request and check the date on your calendar at the
    same time, without leaving the email preview pane.

    The Ribbon replaces traditional menus and toolbars to give you a more personalized work experience. It’s designed to help you more easily find and use the full range of features that OneNote provides.
    Notebook Recycle Bin
    Did you or another author discard a page that you still want to use? Perhaps you deleted an entire section only to remember that it included content you need. OneNote 2010 makes it easy to change your mind or to get back content that other editors delete.
    Better Notes Organization
    Improved, more flexible page tabs give you two levels of subpages, enable you to drag-and-drop to create subpages and provide an in-place New Page icon that appears wherever you point so that you can create pages where you need them.

    With wiki linking, you can easily reference and browse through related content such as note pages, sections and section groups within a notebook.
    Improved search
    Search all notebooks at once or search within individual pages, sections or notebooks. OneNote searches your text as well as the text within images in your notes. OneNote 2010 can search audio for keywords and videos that you included in the notebooks.
    Linked Notes
    take notes in a docked OneNote window while you work side-by-side in other programs or Web browser. Notes taken in this mode are automatically linked by OneNote to whatever you’re looking at.

    The Ribbon replaces traditional menus and toolbars to give you a more personalized work experience. You no longer have to navigate complex menus or open multiple toolbars to make a small formatting adjustment or change a drawing.

    Preview how your customizations will look before you even create a publication. Use the Customize pane in Backstage view to see your saved design schemes, company information, and logo before you even create it.
    Send Email Newsletters
    Preview your e-mail newsletter and then send it using Outlook 2010 or your e-mail application, directly from the Save & Send tab in Backstage view, so you don’t have to worry about how your e-mail message will look after you send it.

    SharePoint Workspace uses the same username and password credentials that you supply when you start up your computer and log in to Windows.

    Drag&Drop in 2010 Workspace
    You can now drag and drop files between folders in 2010 Workspaces, you no longer need to cut and paste the files individually.

    such as all of the tables, forms, and reports you need for tracking contacts, across your
    databases or organization in just a few clicks.
    Quick Start Fields
    With new Quick Start fields you can add multiple related, and pre-formatted, fields quickly and
    efficiently. This saves time, and it helps ensure consistency when creating tables that use similar fields in your current database or other databases.

    Share your images across your database. The new Image Gallery enables you to reuse shared images in your forms and reports, saving valuable design time.
    Data Bars
    Conditional Formatting has a new look. In Access 2010 you can now add data bars with gradient fills to your forms and reports and visually see how one value compares to the others or identify trends.

    Web Browser Control
    allows a user to easily create mash-ups based on your data. If you have a form that contains address information, you can add a Web Browser control that displays a Web site showing a map of the address for that record on the form.
    Calculated Fields
    Bring more power to your tables by enabling you to create calculations once and
    use them across your database. You can now create calculated fields in the tables that store the data used in your calculation.
    Office Themes Support
    Apply professional designs across your Access database. Now you can take advantage of familiar and great-looking Office themes and apply them to your databases with high fidelity both on the Access client and the Web.

    Location Aware
    A user’s location can be auto detected from the subnet where the user is wired or the nearest wireless access point. User can also set custom locations, which the system will remember.
    Skill Search
    Search for skills directly from within Office Communicator.
    Contextual Calls
    Add a subject to a call before calling, so the receiver knows what the call will be about.

    User can update their status as often as they like. Status can be displayed in contact list.

    User can choose to forward inbound calls to a specific number (based on the caller’s identification), straight to voice mail, or ring multiple numbers simultaneously.
