• 1. Stop doing the work yourself – let Excel do it for you! Excel functions can: •Get price from list •Find string of text •Create in-cell chart •Count columns And much more!
• 2. Finds a value in a list, and pulls data from specific column in same row VLOOKUP finds the price for Paper in the Product Price lookup table
• 3. Finds a value in a horizontal list, and pulls data from specific row in same column HLOOKUP finds the rate in effect on March 15th
• 4. Create a reference from text in a cell INDIRECT gets the value in row 2, column 2, on the MyLinks worksheet
• 5. Count the number of columns in a specific range COLUMNS counts the number of columns in the table named RegionSales
• 6. Get information about the cell, such as location or contents CELL shows the file name
• 7. Compare data for exact match, including upper and lower case EXACT returns FALSE when entered password has matching characters but different case
• 8. Repeat a character the specified number of times REPT function creates an in-cell chart based on the number in column B
• 9. Find the first instance of a string of characters in a list MATCH finds the first month name that contains the letter “I”
• 10. Removes non-printing characters from text string CLEAN removed non-printing characters at start of text in cell C2
