  4. 4. Ear - thermometer The ear thermometer reads your temperature by measuring infra red energy which is heat The technology was first developed to see the birth of stars
  5. 5. Edible Toothpaste <ul><li>This was developed so that astronauts would not have to spit out the toothpaste as they cleaned their teeth </li></ul><ul><li>It would not be very pleasant if they had to spit in zero gravity </li></ul>
  6. 6. Space Pen <ul><li>Most pens need gravity for the ink to come out </li></ul><ul><li>The space pen has a pressurised ink cartridge that forces the ink out. </li></ul><ul><li>On earth these can be use to write with the pen upside down </li></ul>
  7. 7. Invisible Braces <ul><li>These are used to straighten teeth and are made of a nearly invisible ceramic material. </li></ul><ul><li>The material was made by NASA when they needed strong materials for spacecraft and aircraft </li></ul>
