Duties included development of technical strategy, planning, product management and implementation of the ECNO Technical Architecture product, administration and supervision of work teams overseeing the systems management and operations of Ministry computer systems, implementation and development of the Ministry data communications activities with ECNO, Wide Area Networks (DECNET IV, TCP/IP), Local Area Networks (WINNT, Pathworks, Lanmanager)/ I also participated as the Ministry of Education Beta Test coordinator for a variety of Microsoft and Digital Equipment products. I regularly trained and mentored junior and intermediate staff and acted as product manager Technical Products Group as required.
  • 3. August 1986 – June 1989 Real Time, A Division of Memotec Data Inc. (Teleglobe Data Inc) Toronto, ON Systems Support Specialist Real Time provided on-line based data processing solutions to insurance companies, brokerages and municipal governments. My duties at Real Time were to provide technical and end-user support to employees and clients, act as a liaison between end-users, applications analysts, programming and technical services departments. Responsibilities included planning and execution of data recovery activities for on-line systems and overnight processing, front-end communications and hardware support, benchmarking applications, tuning on-line and overnight applications, development, maintenance and supervision of job-streams and the computer operators running them (up to 20 staff), investigation of job ab- ends and programming problems. I also performed operating system upgrades and capacity planning activities. Education Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology Sarnia, ON Computer Programmer Analyst Diploma, (3 yrs, plus coop), 1986 Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute, Kitchener, ON SSGD, Honours Music Award Computer and Specification, installation and support of Microsoft servers (operating Technical Skills systems and networking products up to Windows Server 2003) as well as many Microsoft application servers (Exchange 2007, Project Server, SharePoint Portal, SQLServer 2005). Competent with Cisco switches and routers, Network security products, Mitel ICP 3300 and related VOIP products, Codian and Sony video conferencing solutions.
