    • The benefactors for the Local History Room are members of the Walker Family:
    • Joseph Walker, Jr. Claude M. Walker
    • Marion Walker Clarke Felix D. Walker
    • Robert C. Walker John S. Walker
    • The Walker family has long been involved with the cotton industry. The patriarch of the family was Joseph Walker, the senior member of the firm of Joseph Walker and Company, one of the leading cotton companies of the South.
