Today’s economy requires me to exceed and reward those expectations. With an “under commit / over deliver” philosophy, I quickly gain the trust and respect of customers. My experience will allow me to assess each internal and external customer with enthusiastic attention, and deliver with results. Plans to execute will always begin with a scope, schedule and resource foundation. A plan is no better than the team in which you work with, and I wish to be part of a successful team and growing business. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Manager, Information Technology – Progressive Insurance 2006 – 2008 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A structured approach to problem solving with quality as the objective produces a win-win every time. Assembling the proper skills and personnel in a structure environment is essential. There, one can define the problem, brainstorm the alternatives, chart a course, and execute strategy. I will extend every effort to solve complex problems through a continuous review – measure – refine methodology. What works today, may not work tomorrow, and you cannot improve what you do not measure. Experience – Applying it to my new position 3 <ul><li>Manager, Quality Assurance – Hewlett Packard and Compaq Computer 2000 - 2005 </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Managing in a Fortune 500 company that spans the globe taught me the art of compromise. Your customer is in Australia, your team is in India, and your VP is breathing down your neck. I bring to my new position, the ability to cross cultural boundaries and geographical lines. This experience will serve me in my ability to quickly respond to a variety of customer needs, regardless of who or where they are. My experience has afforded me the opportunity to work one-on-one ranging in personnel from the janitor to the CEO. I am well versed in using the tools available to engage in personal interaction. My goal is to use technology in order to attract face-to-face interaction. My proficiency is excellent in using web-based communication tools to match what customers are accustom to using. Regardless of the tool, I will always use honesty and integrity as my key to success in my new position. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Economic Development – State of Arizona and VVREDC 1993 - 2000 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Politics is inherent to all aspects of business. Bringing a group of people to consensus is virtually impossible. Avoiding political strife and moving people towards compromise takes skill and training. I bring a suite of disciplines that includes facilitation, communication, public speaking, and presentation delivery. My work in business development and expansion will be heavily used as we capture additional market share and expand our customer base. Knowing the relationships and how to establish them between business, the public, and a community is key. So whether I am in the office, at a special event, or meeting with a customer or client, I will represent my new company with integrity and professionalism. </li></ul></ul>

New business proposals necessitate an assessment of capability and capacity. Having worked extensively in this arena, I can assist with my companies new business opportunities as well as their internal operations. Capital investment protection is everybody’s responsibility within an organization. It takes a trained professional to decipher wants from needs. I possess the ability to assess a return on an investment and lead departments and individuals to making prudent choices. Whether considering new products, sales and marketing campaigns, or department budgets, I am comfortable sitting at the table to map out the strategic , long range, and short term plans. </li></ul></ul>Experience – Applying it to my new position 4
  6. 6. Expertise – Applying it to my new position <ul><ul><li>Until joining Shelby Automobiles, my portfolio read technology-based or economic development centric. But Shelby saw the same attributes that I am certain you will see. I am a high energy, optimistic performer who possess a winning spirit regardless of where I am working or who I am working with. I believe success is attributed to understanding that people share the same basic values and beliefs regardless of what industry they work in. A businesses workforce is directly related to their customer base. Relating to one, allows me to relate to the other which equates to customer satisfaction. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I am a well organized, planning based team player. Solving complex problems and working in difficult situations is second nature to me. Whether planning multi-million dollar investment, managing software qualification, or negotiating a new industry’s acceptance into a community, I have always relied on my interpersonal communication skills and ability to manage, direct, motivate and coordinate the actions of others. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Your company can benefit from my experience in helping to better integrate technology into sales opportunities.   7. 7. Education – Applying it to my performance <ul><ul><li>Early in my career, I found that I was most comfortable working with people who run the machine, than the machine itself. I chose my degree plans in order to work effectively within both the corporate structure as well as with the people who truly produce the results and drive profit. Specifically, my Economic Development and Business Retention and Expansion training has helped me react to the increasing demands that today’s environment places on both people and product. I truly enjoy working with the public. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I have benefited from several continuous education programs within the last 3 years including Advanced Leadership through Dale Carnegie. I am well versed in managing and participating in budgets, planning and expenditures, report preparation, process improvement, conflict resolution, and contract negotiations. I am trained in coaching skills, performance assessments, and managing today’s diverse work force. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>I bring the ability to relate and conduct business with people from all walks of life. Combining my management training with economic development, I have gained an appreciation and understanding of what motivates the actions of others. Whether working internally with the Sales and Marketing folks, the Finance department, senior management or customers, I am comfortable interacting on both a personal and professional level. I would like to conclude my presentation with a brief paragraph that summarizes Don Beson. </li></ul><ul><li>My career has included working with several Fortune 500 companies, a state government, an economic development agency, and the worlds most noted automobile legend. To some, it may look like I jumped around a bit. Certain changes in my employment were of my own choosing, some were not. Be that as it may, I have developed depth and breadth along my career path which will be beneficial to your organization. The important aspect of my career to focus on is this: I hold sacred a code of conduct which guides my actions. Live by the Golden Rule, lead by example, and believe in the strength and knowledge that only teamwork can bring to the table.
