What is Texas STaR Chart? <ul><li>Developed from the 4 key areas of the Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Teaching and Learning </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Educator Preparation and Development </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Infrastructure for Technology </li></ul></ul><ul><li>An online resource tool for self-assessment of your campus’ and district’s efforts to effectively integrate technology across the curriculum. </li></ul><ul><li>A tool designed for use in technology planning, budgeting for resources, and evaluation of progress in local technology projects. </li></ul><ul><li>Survey must be completed each year. </li></ul>School Technology and Readiness

How can we use STaR Chart? <ul><li>To create and/or update the district’s technology plan. </li></ul><ul><li>To help conceptualize our vision of technology. </li></ul><ul><li>To measure student and teacher proficiencies with regard to the integration of technology into all content areas. </li></ul><ul><li>To apply for grants. The Texas Campus STaR Chart will help schools identify their educational technology needsas they apply for grants. </li></ul><ul><li>To determine funding priorities. Education administrators and policymakers can use the Texas Campus STaRChart to determine where to allocate funds. </li></ul><ul><li>To track progress on use of No Child Left Behind Title II, Part D formula and discretionary funds. </li></ul>
