On Thursday, March 6, Infused creator Josh Fisher will give a lecture at the University of Iowa on the role of digital technology in the arts and the opportunities that this growing technological arena offers. As the CEO of Appoet, a mobile application focused on digital humanities, Josh has helped develop and expand the way we share art and literature, and, with the company’s newest GPS-enabled magazine Infused, has shown creatives how they can disseminate their work to the masses. In addition to discussing how technology is used to create shareable art, the presentation will touch on the process and challenges of creating the Appoet application and Infused and how artists can contribute to digitized creative content. For those interested in mobile applications, the arts, and digital humanities, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet with an up and comer in the industry.
GPS-Enabled Stories and Localized Education: Turning Neighborhoods into Art Spaces with a Mobile App will be held at University of Iowa’s Learning Commons at 12:30 pm.
