  • 15. Here’s  how  to  set  up  a  remarke2ng  list:   Find  Audiences  Tab   Sign  in  to  your  AdWords  account  and  click  the   Campaigns  tab.  Then  click  the  Control  Panel     &  Library  link  in  the  leI  naviga3on  bar  and     select  Audiences.  
  • 16. Here’s  how  to  set  up  a  remarke2ng  list:   Select  Remarke2ng  List   Click  the  New  audience  drop-­‐down  menu     and  select  Remarke2ng  list.  
  • 17. Here’s  how  to  set  up  a  remarke2ng  list:   Describe  List   Enter  a  descrip3ve  Remarke2ng  list  name     (for  example,  “homepage  visitors”),  op3onal   Descrip2on,  and  Membership  dura3on  (we     recommend  star3ng  with  the  default  of     30  days).

Here’s  how  to  set  up  a  remarke2ng  list:   Create  Remarke2ng  Tag   In  the  Tags  sec3on,  select  Create  new     remarke2ng  tag  if  you  want  to  add  a  new  tag     to  your  site.  You  can  also  use  an  exis3ng  tag.     For  example,  if  you  have  conversion  tracking     installed,  you  could  use  your  conversion  tag     to  create  a  custom  combina3on  for  people     who  visited  your  site,  excluding  those  who     have  already  made  a  purchase.  When  you’re     done,  click  Save.

Here’s  how  to  set  up  a  remarke2ng  list:   Copy  and  Paste  Tag   Next,  click  [tag]  under  “Tags/Rules.”  From     the  Page  security  level  drop-­‐down  menu,     select  HTTP  or  HTTPS,  depending  on  the     security  level  of  your  page.  Copy  the  code     and  paste  it  into  applicable  pages  on  your     site,  between  the  <body>  tags,  closer  to     the  </body>  tag.

Here’s  how  to  set  up  a  remarke2ng  list:   Copy  and  Paste  Tag   Next,  click  [tag]  under  “Tags/Rules.”  From     the  Page  security  level  drop-­‐down  menu,     select  HTTP  or  HTTPS,  depending  on  the     security  level  of  your  page.  Copy  the  code     and  paste  it  into  applicable  pages  on  your     site,  between  the  <body>  tags,  closer  to     the  </body>  tag.    
  • 21. Wow!  You  got  Remarke2ng  List!   You  might  want  to  create     a  new  campaign  just  for  remarke3ng  so   you  can  easily  manage  your  remarke3ng     budget  separately.
  • 22. How  to  add  your  remarke2ng  list  to  a  new  campaign   Select  New  Campaign   Go  to  the  Campaigns  tab  of  your  account     and  select  “New  campaign.”

How  to  add  your  remarke2ng  list  to  a  new  campaign   Edit  Campaign  SeEngs   Fill  in  a  descrip3ve  campaign  name     (for  example,  “Remarke3ng”)  and  select  your     loca3on  and  language.  In  the  Networks   sec3on,  select  “Let  me  choose.”  Deselect     the  Google  search  check  box  to  ensure  your     ads  will  only  appear  on  the  Google  Display     Network.  Under  Display,  select,  “Relevant     pages  only  on  the  placements  and  audiences     I  manage.”  Under  the  Devices  sec3on,     choose  the  default  “All  available  devices”  for     maximum  exposure.

How  to  add  your  remarke2ng  list  to  a  new  campaign   Set  Bids  and  Budget     Scroll  to  the  Bidding  sec3on.  You  can  choose  to  bid   manually  or  automa3cally.  We  suggest  automa3c   bidding,  where  Google  will  automa3cally  adjust  your   bids  to  get  the  most  clicks  possible  from  your  budget.   You  can  set  a  max  CPC  to  control  the  cost  of   individual  clicks.       Remember  that  with  remarke3ng,  youre  reaching   people  already  interested  in  your  product  or   service,  so  it  makes  sense  to  set  a  slightly  higher   maximum  bid  than  you’d  set  for  other  Display   Network  campaigns.       When  you’re  done,  enter  your  daily  remarke3ng   budget  in  the  Budget  sec3on.

How  to  add  your  remarke2ng  list  to  a  new  campaign   Save  Your  SeEngs   Scroll  to  the  boeom  of  the  page  and  hit  Save  and   Con2nue.       You’re  almost  ready  to  turn  your  campaign  on.       The  final  step  is  to  create  custom  ads  to  show  to  the   people  who  visited  your  site.

How  to  add  your  remarke2ng  list  to  a  new  campaign   Create  a  New  Ad  Group   AIer  you’ve  saved  your  campaign  sefngs,     you’ll  be  prompted  to  create  a  new  ad     group,  just  as  you  would  for  a  Display     Network  campaign.       Save  Ad  Group   Leave  the  Keywords  and  Placement  sec3ons     blank,  then  hit  Save  ad  group.

How  to  add  your  remarke2ng  list  to  a  new  campaign   Add  Remarke2ng  List   Almost  there.  The  last  step  is  to  add  your  remarke3ng   list  to  this  ad  group.     Click  the  Audiences  tab,  then  Add  audiences.     Select  Remarke2ng  lists,  then  pick  the  remarke3ng     list  you  just  created  (in  our  example,  “homepage   visitors”).     Click  Save.
