      • Note: This deck includes animations, but the screens are intended to make sense in Normal viewing mode. However, there are animations that show the progression of field entries when adding, saving, and editing poll questions. If you want to see those builds, you will need to view the presentation in View Show mode.

      • Use pollling questions to improve the effectiveness of your training

      • Close all other applications.
        • Give me your full attention for 1 hour and I’ll let you go in 1 hour
      • Open your WebMeeting Participants panel (select on View menu).
        • Locate your Raise Hand button

    8. Add Questions
      • Select question type
      • Click New
      • Text entry box will appear in Poll Questions window

    9. Add Questions
      • Create a question:
        • Type the stem and press Enter (there is a character limit).
        • Type the answer options.
      • Click New to add another question.
      • To change the question type, select a new type and click Change Type .
      • You can use different question types in the same poll.
      To those who said you know how to pre-load a poll, but don’t know how to do an ad hoc poll…this should be familiar. Instructor Development Course: Using Questions in Class © 2006, Dawn Drake
    10. Open the Poll
      • For ad hoc polls during class, type the question and click Open Poll immediately.
      • Click the Open Poll button
      • The active poll will display in participants’ Polling panels

    11. To Save a Poll
      • Click the Save icon
      • Save window will open showing the atp file.
      • Navigate to the folder where you want to keep the poll, name the file, and click the Save button.
        • Default name is “Poll [n]”
      • Poll text will remain displayed in the Poll Questions window until you clear it.
      Tip: If you allow the system to save to a default folder, look for it in the WebEx folder. Instructor Development Course: Using Questions in Class © 2006, Dawn Drake Recommendation: Create a poll folder for the class at a high level on your desktop for easy access.
    12. *Folders Are Your Friends!
      • Folders let you:
      • Save and retrieve poll results
      • Pre-load polls for future meetings
      • Edit saved polls
      • Be flexible with the question sets you open in a class
      1 Folders containing saved polls allow you to select which question sets you will use during a class. Name poll (atp) files for easy recognition to provide flexibilty during class. Instructor Development Course: Using Questions in Class © 2006, Dawn Drake
      • You are preparing for a class that you will deliver next week.
      • Which of the following statements is true?
        • You must wait until the day of the training to create the polls in WebMeeting.
        • You can create the polls in WebMeeting today, and then open them next week.

    14. Load a Saved Poll
      • Click the Open icon
        • You can do this from a blank Poll Questions window or from one that is already populated
      • Select the atp poll file that you want to use (if necessary, navigate to the folder), and click the Open button
      • Question(s) in the selected poll file will appear in the Poll Questions window

    15. Open the Poll
      • Click the Open Poll button
      • The active poll will display in participants’ Polling panel
      • Participant must click on Submit to send answers

    16. Monitor Responses
      • Click the Polling status buttons to see who is responding
      • Click the Close Poll button when all responses are in

    18. *To Save Poll Results
      • Make sure the poll is closed.
        • Anything you do now will prompt you to save the questions .
      • Click the Save icon.
        • The Save Poll Questions As window will appear! You can Save or Cancel.
      • Next, the Save Poll Results As window will open
        • File type is .txt
        • Default name is “Untitled Poll Results”
      • Assign a name and navigate to the folder where you want to save the results
        • Will open to last folder used, so set up and open the folder you want to use before class starts
        • You can rename the .txt files after the class

    19. To Que Up a New Poll
      • Make sure you have saved the results of the current poll!
      • Depending on what is showing on your screen:
        • Click button
        • Click button
      • Click the icon and load a new poll
      • Or type a new ad hoc question

    20. *To Edit Polls
      • To correct text when you aren’t actively using the poll, simply click in the line to be edited and type
      • To delete or rearrange questions, or to edit text after you close a poll, click the Edit Questions button (Save requester will appear)
      • Edit question icons activate
        • Click on the line you want to edit
        • Click the Edit icon
        • Type revised text
      • Save

      • You have saved a poll in WebMeeting and now you want to edit it. Can you navigate directly to the saved file on your hard drive and make the edits, WITHOUT opening WebMeeting?

    21. *Results Files
      • RESULTS files are .txt files
      • Can be opened directly, viewed, and edited like any text document
      • Will show what each participant chose (but we don’t really care about the names)

      • After class:
      • Open the folder on your hard drive where you saved the results
      • Provide the correct answers in the e-mail or at the bottom of the .txt files
      • Attach the .txt files to an e-mail
      • Send to Dawn Drake and your manager
