  5. 5.  ―Know Your Neighbor‖ Workshops  Wednesday, April 2 SUB– Room 16 11:00 am & 1:00 pm  Interactive workshop conducted by: Women’s Center of Beaver County  "Insight on Sexual Violence in the Pittsburgh Region from the US Attorney"  Wednesday, April 2 SUB – Auditorium  Noon – 1:00 pm  Presented by: US Attorney’s Office Pittsburgh Region and Women’s Center of Beaver County.  *Food and refreshments provided with the program courtesy of Penn State Commission for Women
  6. 6.  Boys and Men Healing – Movie Screening and Discussion Wednesday, April 2 4:30pm  Boys and Men Healing is a documentary about the impact the sexual abuse of boys has on both the individual and society, and the importance of healing and speaking out for male survivors to end the devastating effects. The film portrays stories of three courageous non-offending men whose arduous healing helped them reclaim their lives—while giving them a powerful voice to speak out, and take bold action toward prevention for other boys.  Discussion following the film with Women’s Center of Beaver County  *Food and refreshments provided with the program courtesy of Student Activity Fee and Commission for Women
  7. 7.  Sexual Predators: How “Friends” Become Enemies  Wednesday, April 9 4:30pm SUB Lodge  Interactive workshop conducted by: Women’s Center of Beaver County  *Food and refreshments provided with the program courtesy of Student Activity Fee and Commission for Women.  Dating Violence – Get the Message  Tuesday, February 11th 4:30 PM SUB Lodge  -Which message are you receiving: Women are "Abused" or Women are "Respected"?  - Are there "Double-standards" and "Stereotypes"?  - Does this affect your decision to begin or end a relationship?
  8. 8.  Stabbed in the Heart  Friday, March 28 10:00 am, SUB Room 16  In their book of this title, two courageous women share their heartbreaking stories of the murders of their only children. Randi, 28, was stabbed to death by a hit man hired by her husband in 2003. Jen and Dave, 10 and 8, stabbed to death by their father on Christmas Day 1994. One of the authors, Lynn Shiner will conduct the presentation

Campus Initiatives  CFW event entitled, “Future 4 U: An Exploration of Career Opportunities for Women” March 12, 2014 (175 female 9th graders visited Fayette and participated in a day long event filled with faculty presentations in the fields of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art s, & Mathematics).  Ongoing Fundraiser: Swarovski Crystal “Penn State” lapel pin sale. Penn State Hershey • OAW hosted 1st General Assembly • Lecture in Recognition of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month on Ovarian Cancer: What Every Woman Should Know • Co-hosted a breakfast lecture with the American Council on Educations Pennsylvania Womens Network of Central Pennsylvania (ACE). Deborah Davis, Director Of Diversity, Inclusion, & Employment Equity spoke on Forever Soaring to New Heights • Hosted Josette Plank, Penn Lives Newest Columnist and Mommy Blogger • Dr. Nancy Roseman, Dickinson Colleges first female president helped celebrate Womens History month • Co-hosted with the Office of Diversity a lecture by Fauzia Mahr, M.D., Vice Chief of the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry on Insights about the Roles and Rights of Muslim Women • Working to raise funds for the OAW via the Highmark Walk to be held on May 17th and via various philanthropic avenues
