  • 2.   New Zealand is a large island in the south Pacific Ocean Off the south east coast os Australia.
  • 3.   Some Contemporary Maori are traditional ,some live non-tradtional modern lives.
  • 4.  
    • One Tradition of the maori culture is the Haka war dance The dance however is now a performed for ceremonial purposes, not war.
  • 5.  
    • Another tradition of the Maori is Ta Moko: tattooing or painting the face and body with dark arching patterns.
  • 6.  
    • Traditional Maori culture is truly interesting and creative with their own art work.
  • 7.   Sadly like other conquered indigenous peoples many Maori struggled with poverty, alcholism and drug abuse.
