Agreed, Neil. I saw an interim version and it was still confusing, but I just went back and this is mercifully outdated. I'll keep this here as a reference, but it's far more intuitive today, and I like how you can easily get a sense of what kind of searches the add-ins fix. I still think Yahoo would be better incorporating such plug-ins automatically without requiring any user intervention, but that's for another discussion.

Thankfully the process for adding a monkey to your results page is nowhere near as convoluted as this any more. You now get a simple add button which you click, and that's that!

- Users select the plug-ins they want from a gallery
- When logged in, the plug-ins bring even more utility to the search results
Adding SearchMonkey Enhancements: A Step-by-Step User Guide
1) Gallery Welcome Screen
2) Review Plug-In Gallery ~40 enhancements currently live
3) Check Plug-In ~40 enhancements currently live
4) Click Blue “Add” Button
5) Click Yellow “Add” Button Yes, two buttons – same purpose, different colors
6) Click “Save” Because clicking “add” twice won’t save it - really
7) Repeat, or Try It Out Really, do you want to go through that again?

Parting Thoughts
- Few users will go through the trouble to enhance their search listings this way
- Yahoo needs to make improvements for the users; that’s why it gets paid the big bucks
- For users who try out SearchMonkey, it’s an overly complicated process to get it to work
- Once enhancements are added though, the search results are much better
