      • Romans 12:8
      • Be a diligent learner (fleissig)
      • Three types of leadership
        • Organizational leadership
        • Styles of leadership
        • Spiritual leadership
          • "This is not about developing somebody's skill but his / her heart"
      • There are four kind of people in church
        • Explorers
        • Beginners
        • Growers
        • Christ centered
    • --> Percentage distribution matters!
    •
  • 3. Bill Hybels - first session
  • 4. Bill Hybels - first session
      • Watch beginners because they can be uprooted (Jesus parable of the seed thrown on rocks)
      • "But what you really want to know, is how many christ centered christians (CC)you have in church. Because they will take care of the others. Even of explorers who are outside of church."
      • You need CC to change the world.
      • The greatest problem with growers: They                              primarily  take care of there own agenda,rather than Gods agenda.
  • 5. Bill Hybels - first session
    • Greatest predictors of growers moving to becoming CC
      • Daily personal engagement with the bible
        • People have to learn how to feed themselves
      • Serving
        • You really need to serve in a practical way if you want to become a CC
      • Community
        • it is nearly impossible to become a CC without having community
    •
    • "The Church is the last hope!"
  • 6. Craig Roeschel session
    • Successful churches:
      • Have a laser sharp focus
      • Do things with excellence
      • See opportunities where other see obstacles
      • Restrictions simply don't matter
  • 7. Nancy Beach session
      • When ministering we have to think holistically
      • Model Jesus. He healed both
        • spiritually
        • physically
      • If a person has a strong physical or spiritual problem, he/she will have problems listening to the gospel
      • See Matthew 25:42-45
      • 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
  • 8. Nancy Beach session
    •   44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
    •   45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
    •
      • Belief follows compassion
      • Corinthians 9:12-14
      • 12If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more?
      •     But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ.
  • 9. Nancy Beach session
    • 13Don't you know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? 14In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.
    •
      • As churches we need to show compassion if we want to become like Christ!
  • 10. Nancy Beach session
    • Isajah 58:12
    •   12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins        and will raise up the age-old foundations;        you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,        Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.
  • 11. Larry Crabb Session
    • --> Romans 7: 19 ff
  • 12. Larry Crabb session
    • 19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
    •   21So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. 24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!       So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
  • 13. Larry Crabb session
  • 14. John Ortberg session 2
    • The story of Esther
    • As humans we all have shadow missions:
      • Solomon --> pleasure
      • Pilate --> denial
      • Simon --> denying Jesus
    • Often shadow missions are tied to our gifts and passions
    •
    • 1. What is my shadow mission ?
    • 2. What is the shadow mission of our church ?
    • 3. Who is Mordechai in your life (facing you with your true misssion ?))

    • Even Jesus had a shadow mission
      • to be the Messiah without suffering
      • he was tempted many times
        • to Peter: "go away Satan"
        • to Satan himself
