  • 3. Well, there are a number of things that you can do to hire the best. But one of the very best things that you can do is just pick up the phone.

  • 9. FIRST STEP: Pick up the phone and pre-screen those job candidates who meet your job criteria in order to determine whether or not the applicant should even be brought in for an interview with you
  • 10. Give the candidates a call and speak with them for a few minutes by phone
  • 11. Ask your candidates specific questions based on your job criteria that will help you to determine their overall skill set and their experience
  • 12. Your phone screen should be no longer than fifteen minutes
  • 13. And based on the phone screens you could then determine who should be invited in for a face to face interview with you
