  2. 2. Role of this school…  The role of this school’s education is to help students realize their individuality. The focus is on giving students the ability to develop their own creativity and personal modes of self- expression. (Education.com, 2013) Students are given freedom which allows them to be able to define themselves as individuals. The goal is also to help students define their own essence by exposing them to various paths they may take in life so they can freely choose their own way. (Sadker, 2013)
  3. 3. Purpose of education…  The purpose of existentialist education is to help students find the meaning and direction in their lives. It would be able to help students answer the questions: Why am I here? What is my purpose? (Sadker, 2013)  Existentialist education allows the students to learn what they want to learn and allows them to choose when they want to learn. Teachers are to help encourage students, not dictate.  Existentialist education also allows students to learn at their own pace by being self-directed which helps with the development of the individual.
  4. 4. Physical environment…  The physical environment of the school would include students of all ages ranging from preschool to college. Students would be able to do as they please with the hopes of self-motivation leading to self-learning. There would be computers available as well as study halls.  If students want to partake career orientated education, there would be locations in the school for them to do hands on activities such as cooking, art work, and developing prints.  Throughout the rooms and halls in the school, artistic work would be on display which shows off students’ self- expressions.
  5. 5. Academic Curriculum… Required Courses Electives History Math Art/Music Science ELA/Writing Second Languages Health Business Career orientated course Computer Finances
  6. 6. Extracurricular Activities Extracurricular activities that would be emphasized are activities which would engage the students in self-expression such as art clubs, music clubs, drama clubs, photography, peer mediation, and etc. Sport teams would also be available for the students.

Rules, Rituals, and Behavior…  Rules the students have to abide by are: – Treat everyone with respect – Get the best out of this learning experience by pushing yourself to fullest potential – Complete work in timely manner – Come to school to learn and not to waste time – Retake tests which receive a grade of 65 and under – Be PROMPT, PREPARED, POSITIVE, PRODUCTIVE and POLITE  Unacceptable behavior would not be tolerated. Repeated offences will lead to termination.

Equal Education Opportunity All students despite race, gender, and nationality, will receive the same educational opportunity as everyone else. For students with special needs or disabilities, special accommodations would be made in order to meet the needs of the students. For students who are fluent in a first language besides English, teachers in their native tongue would be available. After school help would also be available for students who need it.
  9. 9. School’s Philosophy  The goal is to prepare students for the future and to make an impact on society. Throughout the school year, the students will use the means of self-expression to express themselves and to explore who they are as individuals. Teachers are prepared to help students in different aspects to help them succeed. It is our goal to create an atmosphere where students would be able to grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Students will meet their fullest potential and will be ready for the future.
