Role of this school…
The role of this school’s education is to help students realize
their individuality. The focus is on giving students the ability
to develop their own creativity and personal modes of self-
expression. (Education.com, 2013) Students are given
freedom which allows them to be able to define themselves as
individuals. The goal is also to help students define their own
essence by exposing them to various paths they may take in
life so they can freely choose their own way. (Sadker, 2013)
Purpose of education…
The purpose of existentialist education is to help students find
the meaning and direction in their lives. It would be able to
help students answer the questions: Why am I here? What is
my purpose? (Sadker, 2013)
Existentialist education allows the students to learn what they
want to learn and allows them to choose when they want to
learn. Teachers are to help encourage students, not dictate.
Existentialist education also allows students to learn at their
own pace by being self-directed which helps with the
development of the individual.
The physical environment of the school would include
students of all ages ranging from preschool to college.
Students would be able to do as they please with the hopes of
self-motivation leading to self-learning. There would be
computers available as well as study halls.
If students want to partake career orientated education, there
would be locations in the school for them to do hands on
activities such as cooking, art work, and developing prints.
Throughout the rooms and halls in the school, artistic work
would be on display which shows off students’ self-
