The Luv Shack Ranch Horse (and Donkey) Rescue

Our Mission Statement
The Luv Shack Ranch Horse Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected and slaughter bound horses with the ultimate goal of finding each animal a loving, forever home.
Additionally, we are committed to creating therapeutic programs for at risk children to help them heal from similar circumstances.
Our goal is to serve the community by providing the opportunity for the horse and children to heal one another physically, mentally and emotionally.

His stable mate did not make it
He is now at an acceptable weight
Has a temporary foot issue

Rescued from a Mexican Rodeo
We think he was used for “horse tripping”
Took 3 days to load him into a trailor
Lived in very hazardous conditions
Now he comes when you call and has been saddled

Now The Luv Shack rescues goats!

Babysits the young horses

Rescued from the slaughter pens
He is now our permanent resident
Official volunteer welcoming committee

Had been severely neglected
Foot problems
Had to be humanely euthanized
Was in severe pain
Could not even walk
We believe in humane euthanasia for those that cannot be saved

Older mare, ride-able
Found her in slaughter lot
We could not choose & could only take 2
Had Mordecai, another slaughter rescue, choose a horse & he chose her.
Has been happily adopted to a forever home

The Horses
Rescue abused, neglected and/or slaughter-bound horses
Provide immediate medical care for sick or injured horses
Provide on-going rehabilitation for rescued horses
Provide a safe haven for rescued horses that are unadoptable
Adopt rehabilitated horses out to safe, loving, forever homes
Guarantee humane euthanasia for animals with untreatable pain or suffering

The Children
Encourage emotionally, mentally and physically handicapped and at risk children and adults through equine interaction
Build knowledge, respect and healing for them alongside the rehabilitated horse
Promote direct involvement with programs designed specifically for these children and adults.
