  • Change the WorldSteve Jobs lured John Sulley away fromPepsi to be Apple„s CEO, asking him„Do you want to sell sugar water for therest of your life, or do you want to comewith me and change the world?“
  • Boardroom CoupApple„s Board of directors sided with CEO John Sulley in adispute between Steve Jobs & himself. Can you imagine being fired from the company you co-founded?Jobs said during his famous commencement address atStanford „The heaviness of being successful was replacedby the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure abouteverything. It freed be to enter on the most creative periodsof my life“
  • Being Fired, from your own company! After leaving Apple, Steve Jobs was at a loss. „I really didn„t know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down – that I had dropped the baton as if was being passed on to me.“ „But something slowly began to dawn on me – I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.“
  • NeXT & PixarSteve Jobs started NeXT Computer. He bought The Graphics Group fromLucasFilm. This would later become PixarChances are that you„ve probably heard ofa Pixar movie or two (even if you haven„tseen one)Disney bought Pixar and Steve Jobsbecame the largest single stockholder ofDisney
  • Reed CollegeSteve Jobs parents promised to send himto college. He had his heart set on ReedCollegeA Caligrpahy class that he took while aReed College was largely responsilbe forall the different fonts and typefaces thatwere offered on the Macintosh. Can you imagine not being able to useserif, san serif, and all the other fonts wehave today?
  • If You Don„t Have Your HealthAt 17 Steve Jobs read „If you live each day as if it wasyour last, you„ll most certainly be right“„If today were the last day of my life, would I want to dowhat I am about to do today?“ If the answer is not toooften, it is time to make some changes.parents promised to send him to college. He had his heartset on Reed College„Your time is limited, so don„t waste it living someoneelse„s life. Don„t be trapped by dogma - … have thecourage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehowalready know what you truly want to become. Everythingelse is secondary.“
  • Stay Hungry, StayFoolish! We call learn a fewthings from SteveJobs…
  • Some Final Words..I learned a lot about Steve Jobs when I was preparing for my speech. I was really looking forward to seeing what he was going to do now that he had “retired” from Apple. I thought that maybe he might challenge Bill Gates in the world of Philanthropy or that he might tackle one of the insurmountable problems that we have today. Like much of the world I was truly saddened to hear of his death. When all is said and done I wonder how many people will have been inspired by Steve Jobs and what his impact will have been and continue to be?I„m currently reading the Steve Jobs biography written by Walter Isaacson. I encourage you to read it if you„d like to learn more about Steve Jobs.
