  1. 1. NARRATIVE REPORT IN ENGL 120The objectives in teaching oral skill consist of:Identifying the purpose of teaching oral skill and it’s correlated topics;Analyzing the importance of principles in teaching speaking skill; andRetelling the principles in teaching skill. As I observed the fourth year class of BSE major in English, I could say that they wereactively engaged and participated in meaningful classroom discussion. But I find it bitdifficult to get other student’s attention and interest. They were seated at the back andbusy with other things. It is not easy to talk in front of the class if you don’t know how, when, or where to start. We, as the future educators must choose and find relevant topicto construct objectives using SMART. Here are some questions that we have to considerin teaching:What the students will learn today? What will you teach today? How can I reach my objectives? What motivation shall I use to catch their interest? How am I going to present my topic? As a group, we did our assigned task properly despite of being a bit confused. We havebeen very busy and have not talked what to discuss in our topic. I could say that most ofthe fourth year class understands our topic as we have given the set of examples.“Teaching Oral Skill” has its correlated topics that we have discussed. My Part in this discussion: Other Rules in Oral Skill and Different Settings for Oral CommunicationZenaida (Beth) Galon’s part: Oral Skill and Five Golden Rules in Teaching Oral SkillJobert Securata’s part: What Makes Speaking Difficult?Precious San Juan’s part: Oral Speech Corrections and Principles for DesigningSpeaking Techniques Submitted to: Ms. Mae L.
