  • RMB – means Right Mouse Button, or “Right-Click”
  • Rigid Body method - (if you have transient data) or apparently visual only (client) if you have static variables and geometry (to speed things up).
    The latter has the unintended consequence of not updating the server for datasets with steady state rotational data.  For example rotate a single fan part with steady state rotational data: the server fails to update at each rotation to properly do particle tracing. You have to trick the server. If  you have that problem, see support@ensight.com. Also this fails for measured data.
  • Right-click on a trace and you can see the option “Set all trace emissions to random colors” – this will make the traces easier to tell from each other.

    Then I can hide some of them that are not interesting to me.

    Then finally I can color them again by the velocity variable.
  • V10.1 will include a vastly overhauled handling of polyhedral elements which are becoming popular with many of the cfd solvers (openFoam, StarCD, and Fluent as well as others). 

    The goal being robust handling of polyhedrons including calculations of variables and feature extractions with higher performance and lower memory.

    Speed up of polyhedrals the internal representation of N-faced elements has changed dramatically in 10.1.  The user should expect to see quicker initial load times for N-faced dominate datasets and smaller
      memory footprints the larger the number of faces/element.  For a N-faced hex element, the memory footprint is roughly the same as 10.0.
