Our client, a 2000+ person, stand-alone management consultancy with offices around
the United States, Canada, the UK, Asia and the Middle East and a focus on delivering
pragmatic solutions to complex problems across the global banking, insurance, and
investment management sectors seeks Senior Consultants for their US Financial Services
team within their Insurance and Asset Management practice areas.

As a recognized and respected advisor to many leading organizations, our client’s
professionals provide consulting, benchmarking and resourcing solutions to a number of
leading financial services organizations. Areas of specialty include operations strategy
and transformation, distribution strategy and transformation, and regulatory strategy,
risk management/mitigation and compliance.

Our client’s Senior Consultants have an opportunity to work with and learn from their
Financial Services senior leaders in a smaller, closely-knit organization that affords the
opportunity to see many different project phases and participate in thought leadership
through co-authoring of industry white papers.

The Senior Consultant will support and occasionally lead consulting engagements. They
will partner with management at insurance and investment management organizations
in executing business transformation and improvement engagements. Specifically, they
will work with clients in the Operations, Finance, Accounting and Risk functions, honing
their expertise in the following service areas:

 •   Design and delivery of cost-efficient operating models
 •   Targeted cost reduction, organizational re-design and process improvement
 •   Business strategy implementation
 •   Technology selection and implementation
 •   Managing operational and financial risk
 •   Implementing organizational change


Responsibilities:
Engagement delivery – execute engagement tasks independently or in a team setting
and deliver to high quality standards
Problem solving – break down clients’ most challenging problems and construct
solutions
Practice development – support and contribute to the management and development of
Practice initiatives (e.g., recruiting, people and culture, internal communications, and
training)
Sales – provide support with sales campaigns
Market knowledge and development – grow your market knowledge and be able to
effectively articulate our key business propositions
Engagement management – lead small projects in a deadline oriented environment

General Requirements:
  • 2 - 5+ years of relevant experience in investment management and/or insurance
    experience either directly from the industry or within a management consultancy
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving ability and a collaborative, consultancy mindset
  • Able to work well independently and within a team
  • Experience working on discrete, time sensitive projects
  • Highly motivated, driven, and dynamic
  • Passionate about work and personal life
  • Flexibility with respect to travel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of
    Microsoft Project, Access, and Visio a plus
  • MBA or MA/MS degree in a related field a plus
  • CPA, Lean, Six Sigma, PMP or other relevant certifications a plus; desire to pursue
    certifications a plus
  • Operational effectiveness / Business process transformation
  • Finance and accounting operations
  • Risk management
  • Organizational change
  • Software Vendor Selection and Implementation

Specific Requirements:
Specific experience desired for Investment Management includes back and middle-office
operations experience at a hedge fund/private equity shop, hedge fund administrator,
prime brokerage, asset manager, private bank, or in the investment operations
department of a life insurance, annuity, or retirement company.

Specific experience desired for Insurance includes understanding of billing, premium
receipt, claim adjudication, accounting/finance and/or systems functions for life
insurance, annuity, or retirement products.
