The people of Israel will thank the Lord and call on each other to let the world know what God has done for them. In so doing people everywhere will know of his goodness and that he always keeps his promises. At the time Isaiah wrote chapter 12 the Assyrian Empire, which was a threat to Israel and particularly to Judah had fallen and thus the threat no longer existed. The Holy One of Israel is coming and they should be joyful. Have you thought about all the wonderful things God has done in your life? Your spouse, your children, your vocation, all of these things happened at God’s direction. You like Israel need to tell others of how God performed these mighty works in your country and in your life?
