The Solemnity of Christ the King-Daniel 7:13-14 - Presentation Transcript
His kingdom shall not be destroyed.
13 I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him.
14 And to him was given dominion and glory and kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

The “clouds of heaven” is a symbol that the “Son of Man” is divine.
As we study the Bible we notice that each time the word “cloud” is used it is associated with majesty and the awesome presence of God.
The Son of Man therefore is the Messiah.
Jesus himself uses this phrase to identify himself in Matthew 26:64 ; Luke 21:27; John 1:51.
God’s glory appeared in a cloud in Exodus 16:10 and 19:9 at the giving of the law at Sinai.
The Son of Man is brought into the presence of the “Ancient of Days”.
The expression in Aramaic literally means ‘advanced in days’ but is not intended to suggest that God ages.
At that point the Son of Man, Jesus, is given all authority, glory, sovereignty and power over all peoples, nations and men.
