May you be blameless right up to the day of Christ

 4  always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,  5  thankful for your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.  6  And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.  7  It is right for me to feel thus about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.  8  For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.  9  And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,  10  so that you may approve what is excellent, and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,  11  filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Paul feels a partnership with the Philippians because their church is developing and bringing people to Christ. The Philippians were contributing to the church in practical ways. We demonstrate the same practicality when we participate in the various ministries within our church. Our children see our participation and in time they will stand by our side in an effort to evangelize others through our example. Our children will joined us in a partnership through hospitality and financial gifts, to serve the Lord. God began a good work in us and he can be totally trusted to complete what he has started if we willingly allow him to work in our lives. Paul sees the work that he and Timothy started in Philippi developing and is pleased with the improvement among church members.

Now Paul sits in prison. He spends his time not pouting but praying and being grateful that the work God began in him is working out so well in Philippi. He writes to the Philippians in and effort to support their work and to encourage them. Even though in prison and being denied of nearly all earthly benefits he finds the time to pray and give his love to his partners in the development of the church.
