Epiphany of the Lord – Ephesians 3:2-3a, 5-6 - Presentation Transcript

    1. Ephesians 3:2-3, 5-6 The mystery made known: The Gentiles are coheirs of the promise. Copyrighted material that appears in this article is included under the provisions of the Fair Use Clause of the National Copyright Act, which allows limited reproduction of copyrighted materials for educational and religious use when no financial charge is made for viewing.
      • Brothers and sisters: You have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for your benefit, namely, that the mystery was made known to me by revelation.
      • It was not made known to people in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: that the Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and copartners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
    2. God is in control
      • Paul was under a house arrest in Rome for preaching about Christ.
      • The religious leaders in Jerusalem, felt threatened by Christ’s teachings and didn’t believe he was the Messiah, they pressured the Romans to arrest Paul and bring him to trial for treason and causing a rebellion among the Jews.
      • Paul had appealed for his case to be heard by the emperor, and he was awaiting trial (see Acts 28:16-31). Even though he was under arrest, Paul maintained his firm belief that God was in control of all that happened to him.
      • Do circumstances make you wonder if God has lost control of this world? Like Paul, remember that no matter what happens, God directs the world’s affairs.
