    Christmas Day Mass - Psalm 98:1, 2-3, 3-4, 5-6 - Presentation Transcript

    1. Psalm 98:1, 2-3, 3-4, 5-6 All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God
      • Sing to the LORD a new song,    for he has done wondrous deeds; his right hand has won victory for him,    his holy arm.
      • The LORD has made his salvation known:    in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice. He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness    toward the house of Israel.
      • All the ends of the earth have seen    the salvation by our God. Sing joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;    break into song; sing praise.
      • Sing praise to the LORD with the harp,    with the harp and melodious song. With trumpets and the sound of the horn
    2. Babylon
      • The Lord is shown here as a victorious warrior who saved His people.
      • God had acted to keep His Covenant and all the people have seen what he has done.
      • Notice how the Lord keeps His Covenants with His people but often His people don’t honor God by keeping His laws.
      • The Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount give us the guidelines to follow.
      • At this time Israel only had the Ten Commandments, had they followed them it is certain that the Babylonian captivity wouldn’t have been necessary to restore their faith.
