The Problem With Hope VI
In the city of Niagara Falls, where the median family income is below average – clean, safe affordable public housing is a necessity. However, there is also a need for balance between, public and private housing to avoid depressed areas and maintain the city’s tax base.
Subsidized Housing
- This housing is beautiful – and necessary – but, we must keep in mind it was subsidized with tax payer money and it does nothing to contribute to the city’s tax base.
In the mean time, the city of Niagara Falls, remains plagued with abandoned BUILDINGS and NEIGHBORHOODS that also pay little or no TAXES.
- WHERE IS THE BALANCE
