Moran - Personal history, passionate, didn’t at this point have district backing Habits - habits with School Pledge Counselor taught lessons to S and T Book Study - optional, counselor program was how it was seen.
Book Study - Mandatory, some weren’t happy regarding the book, w/study guides half way turning point - teach kids and the application. then began asking to come in and do more Symposium - high energy, biggest buy in, school tours, came back sold and infectious for their team, language began to change Agendas weren’t consistent until this point - Begin with the End in Mind kids book - for every class, St led conf - powerful however, weren’t all on board
Guidance Counselor only, Teachers take ownership in their classroom for all other grades Full steam ahead, wrote grant, we felt like most were on board continue with St Led conf, leadership night huge success and all students Business Social -turn out was not successful, kid invitations, student addressed envelopes, got our first support from outside sources Student leadership -
Cloud 9 - came crashing down... Celebrating but doom and gloom... Rolled out differently Got Grant - Our principal at the time stated we needed this money, they didn’t know about the grant or what we had done before and thought planners, got kick back and resentment, for my child to have a planner, Roll Out in a positive way, got all data and information, held parent coffees and had some support from those parents. Let supt know this is what we want for our campus. He too thought very highly of LIM, we now have the privilege of being a pilot campus for our district, had an administration change as well.
community funds help support buying supplies, ie. binders, dividers, etc. Graciously hosted a field trip to their dealership for a full day of math, suits and leaderships skills INSERT TOYOTA VIDEO Training was given District CE credit except for one day that they came on their own time to complete. They all attended.
Data Binders- example, looking towards moving to electronic versions Creation of leadership jobs for ALL students -- 30 min. 1x 6/wks Embracing the habits -- community wide book study, progression into MS Jr. Lighthouse team -- application process, student interview panel
