  • 4. Digital Design Test System for Satellite Payload I have developed an FPGA: on one side, it was PCI 2.1 compatible, and on the other side it could manage the digital board for the test system. This system was extremely flexible. Thanks to the software and the Labview interface, it could generate and analyze many kinds of modulation signals and Labview GUI not only the QPSK required for the satellite connection.   • 5. Digital Design Patsy: 8 millions gates SoC This was the first 8 millions gate multi-DSP SoC developed at Ericsson R&D Italy. It is able to manage HDLC (High-Level Data Link Control) and It was the first development with co-simulation technology for fast debugging and verification. I have developed the DMAs controllers and I was responsible for the DSP (Ericsson FlexAsic) acceptance test.   • 7. Display Drivers Design Mixed Signals low power LCD display drivers These ASICs were chip-on-glass for driving LCD STN displays used in mobile Application phones. I was working on the chip layout doing place and route for the first Philips LCD STN display capable of driver multiple- rows. Development I have developed a multiplier for the first color LCD STN driver for mobile applications developed by Philips semiconductors. 08/14/10 7

Systems Design Ericsson Mini-Link MAC layer modeling and synthesis The algorithms implementing the MAC layer (Media Access Control) were modeled using VCC (Virtual Component Co-design) tool by Cadence. Using visual and C++ programming, it was possible to define: 1) HW/SW platform 2) HW/SW algorithm balance In the second phase of the project, I built the full automatic HW synthesis chain from C/C++ code for system design to custom HW (Xilinx FPGA). Embedded Systems Design Ericsson AXE Maintenance Unit Board (MAU) MAU The MAU board supervises the CPs located in the APZ, part of the AXE systems, for instance when a switch between CP A and CP B is necessary because of a fault in the hardware.   • 13. Embedded Systems Design Consulting for U-boot Linux customization Home Automation The customer had no experience with embedded systems and Linux universal boot (U-boot). The system was based on Samsung 2410 (ARM9) platform and the purpose was to develop a small computer for home Samsung 2410 based board automation and connect the modules trough ETH port. I was responsible for setting the tools chain, coaching the employees and configuring the U-boot on the prototype J-Tag emulator board. 08/14/10 13

  • 15. Distributed Systems Design J2world: Chat platform The cost of an SMS was average 15 Euro Cents, while MIDLET MIDLET transferring few bytes of data (J2ME) (J2ME) traffic was extremely cheap. This application was welcome by the deaf community since they use SMS for mobile communication. I was managing the development done by a team of 2 programmers. As a strategy we were using the “Java Verified” checklist as a baseline to test the Midlets. PHP, MySQL, This application was presented Web Server Apache at SMAU (Milan, 2004). Distributed Systems Design J2world: Easy Location Based Services Location Based Services are used for several applications, for instance: MIDLET 1) Consumers for gathering information (J2ME) about the place they are visiting; Server 2) Companies for managing fleets of GIS workers and vehicles. ERP Systems ERICSSON LAB ITALY: ARC-RDM and SAP There was a need for the company to manage the legal entity resources and SAP HRM, FICO the accounts. .xls A tool set was developed (RDM for the upload resource management, ARC for resource planning and cost controlling). RDM GUI ARC GUI The designed process was compliant with the SOX404 act. DB Manager I was responsible for the system deployment and for the full process in 7 European sites for 2 legal entities.
