The truth will become common knowledge pretty much no matter what. This is the path of a great leaders take. Don't forsake your morals to compete. If the competing business is not living up to the standards that you've set for your own business, figure out an alternative so you can stay competitive. You never have to sink lower than they are doing just to stay in the game. You will feel a whole lot better when you find other ways to compete with them.
  • Avoid actions that could be interpreted as being underhanded or dishonest. If you tell others that your business provides great service, be sure that you know how to provide it. Even excellent leaders make the occasional mistake. A good leader would be able to admit guilt and speak about them honestly with his employees/team. It just means that you know you're human and far from perfect. Set team goals high but not impossible ones. Don't set your team up to fail. This is the ultimate way to fail as a poor leader. Hire a variety of folks for your business. Don't have a workforce made up of people who are exactly like you. This will limit the amount of innovation in your team. It could also risks failure based on compounding your personal weaknesses. Know clearly what your personal goals well. Understand just what your goals in business goals. They should align well and may even overlapped in some degree. You should work on them simultaneously. If you can't, your lack of passion will be evident. One thing that can help you to be an effective leader is to start learning how to listen to the people who work under you. When you hear others, keep an open mind for their input to maximize your potential for success. Use your leadership role to build a group of loyal people who are strong team that can work well together. Always be open to your team members regarding
  • questions and give them honest answers. Your employees should be able to handle their position without too much interference from you. Display the sorts of behavior you want your subordinates to follow. If you throw a fit when something goes wrong, they will also. If you are trustworthy and treat people with respect then your employees to respond in kind. Leadership positions often make huge demands on people. These responsibilities make juggling work with your family or other things outside of work. Remember that a well-rounded life that's well rounded if you want to lead well and be more happy.
