    To host and attend events and activities of international character to promote the understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism and diversity in our community, in the United States, and around the world!
    QUIC Members are Culturally Conscious
  • 3. SEPTEMBER EVENTS
    CIC Celebrate! Week at Queens: Cultural celebrations in the Dining Hall each day during the week of Sept. 26th – 30th with authentic cuisine and decorations to celebrate the country/region of the day.
    The Shades of Blue & Gold Talent Show: The finale of CIC Celebrate! Week, and a showcase of the diverse talents of Queens students!
  • 4. OCTOBER EVENTS
    Diwali: The Indian Festival of Lights
    Indian Cuisine in the Dining Hall with a performance by the Bella Faraasha Belly Dancing Club
    A Henna Artist, Rangoli Designs, Traditional Indian Music, Décor and Desserts
  • 5. NOVEMBER EVENTS
    Native American Heritage Month
    Native American Storyteller/Performer
    Bonfire with marshmallow roasting
    Native American arrowhead craft
  • 6. DECEMBER EVENTS
    Invisible Children Book Drive
    Collecting unwanted, used books at the end of our semester for the QUIC philanthropy.
    Sending the books to Better World Books to benefit the Invisible Children program in Uganda.
  • 7. JANUARY EVENTS
    Chinese New Year
    Chinese Lion/Dragon Dance
    Chinese cuisine during lunch hour
    Chinese New Year Decorations in the Dining Hall
  • 8. FEBRUARY/MARCH EVENTS
    Invisible Children Screening

    Malcolm Opoku – Philanthropy Chair
  • 9. APRIL EVENTS
    Intercultural Festival
    Volunteer members/students create informational posters about their country of origin or a country of interest
    Chartwells provides a food sampling of traditional food from that country
    Cultural performances throughout the event set an intercultural atmosphere and guests enjoy the fun!
  • 10. SERVICE
    “Not to be served, but to serve”
    Shamrock Senior Center: Serving the international senior community of Charlotte
    Sedgefield Elementary School: Queens-Sedgefield Partnership
    Log all group volunteer hours with the CAC under QUIC affiliation!!
  • 11. GETTING TO BUSINESS
    Talent Show Sign-Ups Table
    11AM – 1PM: Monday Sept. 12th – 16th
    CIC Celebrate! Week Decoration Staff
    10AM – 11AM: Monday Sept. 26th – 29th
