Traditionally, enterprise messaging migrations have been performed by implementing migration hardware and software “on-premises” at the customer's facility. Now that many enterprise Lotus customers are seeing the financial benefits of moving their traditional in-house Notes and Domino messaging and collaboration environments to Microsoft Online, a new approach to platform migration is now feasible.
The new “hosted” migration approach, also known as a Migration-as-a-Service (MaaS), is where the migration hardware and software resides in a cloud-hosted environment and the migration is performed remotely. Similar in concept to Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), the customer does not need to invest in, nor set up, on-premises systems or purchase licenses of software.
This webinar will compare and contrast the traditional “on-premises” approach to the new “hosted” approach to migrating from Lotus Notes and Domino to Microsoft Online/BPOS. This webinar will provide attendees with an understanding of the fit, functionality, and value of each approach.
- Compare and contrast the cost factors of “on-premises” versus “hosted” migrations
- Compare and contrast the migration process steps for each approach
- Learn how to determine which approach is better suited for your organization
