From our keynote at the Enterprise 2.0 Conference in San Francisco, November 4th, 2009, where we dropedp some of the biggest findings from our ongoing research into Enterprise 2.0 Adoption in 10,000+ employee organizations. What are the Enterprise 2.0 Thoroughbreds doing that you aren't, and where did the stumble, so that you won't?

  • Thanks Stefanie - we had a lot of fun doing that research, and presenting as a keynote that year. While much has changed, much has also remained the same for Enterprise 2.0 adoption. We can all do better...

  • Lucy - Ah, I had a note to follow up with you - we should do so before the year runs out, eh? Second order ROI and ways to measure the 'soft' ROI are definitely areas we should discuss. I'll circle around via e-mail.

    Cheers,
    Dan

  • HI Dan,

Great report. Thanks for sharing it. I am social psychologist and I can see a way to measure ROI from many of the soft aspects of online communities and collaboration.

I am not surprised that your findings indicate a large gap in terms of supporting the community. My research indicates that there is also a new set of skills needed to address community support and that very few organizations are capable of describing those skills, therefore, they will continue to have a hard time filling the gap.

  • Hi Lucy - So, two follow-on items (well, and more...).

Full video of the keynote supporting these slides, from the Enterprise 2.0 Conference:

And companion research (including link to the whitepaper) at:

Good? Any and all feedback welcomed!
