Get Your Innovation On - “Minds On”Thanks Leo and Dian for the complements - great fun to put together, and even more rewarding when put into practice. Innovation is a skill - but how many have been taught Innovation skills? Not nearly enough - but I’m working on it! ;)2 days ago

Enterprise 2.0: Straight From The Horse’s MouthLucy - Ah, I had a note to follow up with you - we should do so before the year runs out, eh? Second order ROI and ways to measure the "soft" ROI are definitely areas we should discuss. I’ll circle around via e-mail.
Cheers,

Build Smarter Internal and External CommunitiesWhen I first created a version of this presentation in 2002 while at Delphi Group, I’d initially thought I was already too late to experience or say anything "new" and relevant. Turns out, I was ahead of my time. When presenting in 2008 at the AIIM show in Boston, had another packed room of 250-300 people, to whom most of this was still 90% new.
Every time I’ve given this presentation at various conferences, it’s been to a packed house, and a heck of a lot of fun to present.
There’s more to social networking than simply friending everyone in sight.
There’s more to creating a successful internal social network than just installing software.
There are plenty of organizations that shouldn’t even attempt to "do social networking" until they create an environment and culture that won’t just destroy any attempts by people to do social networking.
No doubt - if you don’t participate in social networking, inside or outside of your organization, you won’t receive any of the potential benefits.
You may, in fact, be significantly impacting your business, however, if you chose not to participate at all.
There’s a middle ground, however, and it’s finding the appropriate ground for your organization that’s the real challenge.
The question becomes, then, HOW will you participate? What are you trying to accomplish? Are certain networks better than others, for those purposes? How do you keep your corporate secrets from washing out into the network? Should you care?
It’s still relatively early days for online social networking on a massive scale, but there are some best and worst practices that you should be aware of, and not just stumble blindly.
Plenty has been learned already - will you take advantage of lessons learned, or will your company flounder in this "new media" and abandon before seeing any useful return?
In my role as Principal and Co-founder at Information Architected - I am always open to Discuss, Debate, Consult and Educate your needs and concerns regarding social networking from an enterprise point of view.
Social networking has made a huge positive impact on me as an individual, and in carrying across benefits through the positions I’ve held and work I’ve done for clients in the last 7 years.
How can I help YOU make the most of social networking?
Don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Do Or Die Innovation By Process Based Information ManagementThanks Ken - really enjoyed encapsulating the material for this presentation - pretty healthy room when presented last year in Boston at the AIIM show. Even better to have been seen nearly 2,000 times here!8 months ago

You SuggestNicely done presentation - but the final URL was a bit of a head scratcher. I see the yousuggest.com is taken by someone else - you might want to reconsider the name of the product so you can brand a memorable URL along with it. Are there mechanics for measuring the pipeline of ideas? What they turn into? What die out? Are modified?2 years ago

Enterprise 2.0 FTW!Wayne - yep, spot on. Culture is incredibly important, and an amorphous beast to understand and change in ways that would be conducive to Enterprise 2.0 (or Knowledge Management x.x). That’s why we’re recommending in our training to find the sweet spots in an organization (perhaps culture overall is a bit heavy-handed and command/control, but certain business units are all about collaboration and teamwork) to set about "infecting" the rest of the organization.

Enterprise 2.0 FTW!Amit - agreed, although TechWeb (the ones running the Enterprise 2.0 Conference) are going to be posting a full video/audio version at some point. The video is mostly what will bring the point across from the first portion of the deck. Once that’s available, I may re-post here.2 years ago

I seem to have problems with every third presentation I upload on slideshare. Anyone else?2 years ago
