  3. 3. What Pinching can Produce Usually 6in in diameter Thick or thin Decorated in many ways Forms: Vessels, whistles, sculptural forms, pinch pot animals, etc
  4. 4. Physics! “An action will produce an equal and opposite reaction”  Clay will move away from pressure How pressure is applied affects how clay responds
  5. 5. Pinching Tips Work in a spiral from bottom to top Use tip of thumb (interior) and support outside with other hand Can leave minor cracks for texture  BUT! Deep cracks must be welded IMMEDIATELY Trim or untrimmed rims Smoothed or burnished
