Al Qaeda                                              Hamas <ul><li>-Network of multinational, stateless arm and a Sunni movement calling for a global jihad. </li></ul><ul><li>-Techniques include suicide bombings and simultaneous bombings of different targets. </li></ul><ul><li>-Call for a break from all foreign influences in Muslim countries. </li></ul><ul><li>-Management is a &quot;centrilzation of decision and decentralization of execution.&quot; </li></ul><ul><li>-Palestinian </li></ul>
  3. 3. Example <ul><li>Al-Qaeda attacked civilian and military targets in various countries. As Americans we remember Semptember 11th 2001.  On that morning, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the buildings. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, destroying nearby buildings and damaging others </li></ul>

Local Connections <ul><li>- The HAMAS is present in California, but mainly only for fundraising. most is done through an organization called &quot;The Holy Land Foundation for Relief.&quot; </li></ul><ul><li>- The attack on the world trade center on 9/11 is believed to have been done by members of Muslim extremist groups, particularly al-Qaeda and HAMAS </li></ul><ul><li>- A charter school, Islamic Quranic Open University, outside of Fresno, california was shut down becasue of its connections with Jamaat El-Fuqra. </li></ul>

Example <ul><ul><li>Hizbul Mujahideen is currently the biggest militant group operating in Kashmir </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>  Involved in attacks in both India and Pakistan, Hizbul Mujahideen was then named on the European Union's terrorism list. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The Indian government has time and time again requested the Pakistani government for the extradition of Sayeed Salahudeen. However in recent times a well known news agency conducted an interview with the leader of Hizbul Mujahideen, where the leader claimed that the government of Pakistan would never hand him over to the Indian authorities. </li></ul></ul>

They are endowed and with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”   </li></ul><ul><li>Article 3 </li></ul><ul><li>“ Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of persons.”   </li></ul><ul><li>Article 5 </li></ul><ul><li>“ No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.”   </li></ul><ul><li>Others: </li></ul><ul><li>3, 12, 20 </li></ul>
