Creating a clickable tag cloud using Tagul

  1. 1. Creating a clickable tag cloud for your blog, wiki or website
  2. 2. This is atag cloud
  3. 3. It’sclickable!
  4. 4. Clicking a tagtakes you to aof pages with that tag
  5. 5. Clicking throughtakes you to the relevant page
  6. 6. Tagul.com creates the word clouds
  7. 7. Create a new cloud and fillin basic details
  8. 8. For ‘Tags links pattern’ use: PBworks: https://YOURWIKI.pbworks.com/w/search?q= WordPress http://YOURBLOG.com/?s=$tag
  9. 9. This can be done on any site with searchfunctionality:1. Search for any term - e.g. ‘TEST’2. Note the URL produced3. Remove the word TEST from the URL4. Paste it into ‘Tags link pattern’
  10. 10. Play with the options, press‘Build the Cloud’
  11. 11. The tabs tocustomise further are at the top
  12. 12. The ‘Tags’ tab shows numberof times each tag is used
  13. 13. There’s variousoptions for styling the cloud
  14. 14. Clicking on the‘Preview’ tab showswhat your cloud will look like
  15. 15. Not enough differencebetween tags? Go back and change the number of times words appear!
  16. 16. Greater weight = bigger in tag cloud
  17. 17. Click ‘Build the Cloud’ again after making changes to the text
  18. 18. Click on ‘Refresh’ inthe ‘Preview’ tab - it should reflect your changes
  19. 19. The ‘Finalize’ taballows you to get theembed code for your blog / wiki
  20. 20. Change the ‘Width’ to the size you want (height changes automatically)
  21. 21. Press ‘Copy toclipboard’ to grab the embed code
  22. 22. Paste the the embed code ontoyour blog/wiki page
  23. 23. The tag cloudshould appear on your site
  24. 24. Click on atag to make sure it’s working
