UN Cities UN Cities Presentation Transcript

  • UN Model Cities A Proposal for UNEP A Must Read
  • United Nations Organization has been taking active part in socio-economic development of Pakistan. Since 1940s, UN has been serving Pakistani people through two score of its organizations. There is huge shortage of environment- friendly houses and offices in the country. Houses and buildings must be built on climate technology to save fuel and greener environment. After the 2005 earthquake, there is still not a climate compatible city in Pakistan. United Nations Environment Program in collaboration with FPCCI must establish UN Cities in Gilgit-Baltistan, FATA and Balochistan. UNEP can collaborate with State Bank of Pakistan and World Bank to build 3-marla and 4-marla houses for people living below the poverty line. UN Cities will improve local construction industry and boost economic activity. Expertise earned can be replicated in countries of the South. Sajid Imtiaz: Expert Member CDKN, Member Pakistan Society of Criminology, Member CPNE
