Every year thousands of Pakistani Muslims perform the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, though the government provides support. Many elderly Pakistani Hajjis face difficulties in Saudi cities during their pilgrimage. The total number of Pakistani Hajjis is unknown even to educated people in Pakistan. It is hoped that the Ministry of Interfaith Harmony will provide more detailed Hajj statistics to the public about first time and repeat Hajjis from different regions including Karachi and Peshawar from 2015 to 2018.
